I disagree. Going off of the names of the models themselves, Gizmodo's DVT is most likely the latest version. And why the hell would Apple beta test both the black and white versions when the only difference is aesthetics? The white one would not be able to be used in public due to the glaring differences in the front.

The eMac is all white, with the exception of the clear (optional) stand. That doesn't seem particularly colorful.
is it me or do the photos look as if they is no back piece on them. the silver is touching flat on the surface. on other photos you could tell it had a sandwich design.
I wouldn't pass judgement on these white or black iphone prototypes for now - especially when you have less than ideal pictures of them. Bad lighting photographs can make even Eva Longoria look like kim kardashian...
I'd wait to see in person but if it's glass front and back, I'll bet you that both will look great. I personally don't know why apple won't want to release iphones in an assortment of colors like they do their ipod line.

And so dose the 3GS! I like the screw holes. Most phones are used with cases so they will be covered up by those that care. My guess is that screws are either for assembly testing or serviceability.
This would not be a proper MacRumors if half of this thread wasn't about bitching about something that is or isn't there.

The original Apple IIs were all computer grey/off white. So perhaps that is the look they are talking about.

This is indeed very un-applelike. Even the 1st generation iphone was sleeker than this! And don't reply by saying this is a partial assembly. I am hoping this is just another prototype or knockoff thereof. That chromey finish is ghastly as well. It looks cheap. I can only hope that the actual 4th gen. model is sleeker (or the sleekest yet) and takes a page out of the mbp's or ipad's unibody construction.

seriously though I like the black one, its very sleek. The white makes the phone look "cheap" like a toy or something. It contrasts with the sleek styling of the phone.
