Photo of Steve Jobs at Tech Dinner With Barack Obama

Looks to me like they all have white wine in their glasses, but Steve's is still full while everyone has been drinking form theirs'.

It's too bad really, but he doesn't look long for this world. No one that skinny is healthy. My guess is that the last few months have been spent in trying to put some weight on the guy. Chemo therapy cannot be given to someone who is already too weak......
I hope I'm wrong.

I'm not far off being that skinny. I eat well, and exercise 4-5 times a week.

While Jobs undoubtedly has some health issues (none of us know what they are right now - other than the fairly major fact that he has a transplanted liver) but to say no one healthy is that thin is just not true.

Some people have quite spectacularly high metabolisms

Mr Jobs has never exactly been a chubber, has he? :p

I think it's closer to 4-6% for 5 years Pancreatic cancer is the only cancer to have a 5 year survival rate of a single digit.

The five year survival rate for well-differentiated pancreatic endocrine neoplasms is 50% - 70%. None of us have access to specific health records but most published reports (for whatever they are worth) indicate this is what Steve is dealing with.

The blight of liberalism. How about we talk about how time and time again, it's utterly failed to do anything but grow an already bloated government, destroy liberty, personal property, and worsen an economy that used to be second-to-none?

You are unwise to choose a side in a fight where neither parties give a rat's ass about you. It's not liberalism or conservatism that has failed to do anything. It's both. Our government is at a standstill.

But I know they need their vacation time. And of course, they need their pensions even if they only serve one term. It's a lot of hard work accomplishing nothing and we owe them so much.

Very well said - the absurd pension benefits they get for so little time is a glaring example of the abuse of power that our elected parasites exhibit.

It's absurd. You're vested in the program after 5 years. A Senator's term is 6.

You are vested after 5 years - that is correct - but what is the PBO (projected benefit obligation) for 5 years service in industry vs what the PBO is for 6 years "service" (ha ha ha) at the public trough
