I haven't posted in a while (too busy!!!) but I recently got back from a small holiday in Cornwall.

You guys must be professionals...

I tripped over this thread and it seemed vaguely interesting, so I started looking at the photos. Before I realized it, I had studied all 15 pages! Now I'm that person that owns a decent little pocket camera that I keep with me at all times and never take the first picture with it. I'm definitely not an artist but I can appreciate art and beauty. I have to tell you, this was really enjoyable.

I have an overwhelming desire to travel somewhere now. And I'll definitely will be checking back each day to see the new photos you all post.

Thanks for sharing your gift with the rest of us.

You don't need to travel anywhere to find great opportunities for pictures. It's more fun to look at the area around where you live and look at things differently. See how many "mundane", everyday things you can make into art. You'll be amazed. You don't even need to leave your house!

More point 'n shoot...

Melt in your mouth...not in your hand. Eminems, not the white one, but the ones that come in a brown 'wrapper.' ;) My old A95 in macro mode, a counter top, a poster and a few of my favorite candies... mmmm!

Great shots guys, but a friendly reminder that this is Photo of the Day (aka not Photos).

I had to take some pictures for the school newspaper. Here's my favorite:

Well here is another photo of the recently taken model session and I realize that there seem to be some problem with the color esp. near the nose area (the problem didn't stand out in Aperture which surprises me), so I did a lil bit of touch up, not sure if it solves the problem. But the photo can be viewed here (I'm not an active flickr user, hence didn't upload the updated photo in flickr), or if the link is not working, you can check it at my blog

wow, nice butterfly shots there kayes, gotta ask, where you took all these pictures? And what lens you are using for those shots? Do you crop the photo by the way? Cause even if I use my 100 f/2.8 Macro, the butterfly is still usually too small in the picture unless I crop it.

hello wheelhot, there is a butterfly farm near where I live. Fo such shoots I usually bring along a Nikkor 70-300 VR and a Nikkor 105 Micro VR. Sometimes, if I feel very fit and strong, I will also take along the heavy Sigma DG 150-500. With these lenses I can usually get close enough to those flighty creatures and so I don't need to crop my pics much.
