anyway nintendochick, care to tell me the EXIF of that photo? And what post processing you might have done?

Wow... you seem to be getting closer each time. Love the detail around the head. Great color.

Thanks for the kind words! Yeah, I really like the color on this guy. I wish the DOF was just a *tad* more, the left wing's connection to the body is nice and sharp but the right is a little more blurred than I wanted. Ah well. Thank you though! Pulled back more for this next shot :).

One last shot of the Black Iris.

I love the color in this last Iris shot, very rich.

This pic definitely made me sit back! Very nicely done. The angle, the subjects, and the way it pulls you to the back reaches of the image past the cat . . . . all very superb! Plus I just like cats :D

Here's another Schmetterling (trying to work on my German )

C&C always appreciated!

Finally got out to Como Zoo here in MN to play with the 100mm 2.8 Macro I picked up over the winter. Very sharp with good lighting.

Great DOF on this one with really nice clarity. Love the weighted composition.

Is it just me, or have the quality of shots stepped up a bit in the last few days? Must be warming up and encouraging folks to go outside. Great range and style of photos coming out. Makes me want to play hooky and go pretend I am a photographer for the day.

I was at around f/2.8 at 1/3000sec. (next time I probably would have gone with a bit wider aperture...)
in post, all I did was up the contrast and play with the curves. to get the colors. Oh! and I burned the mountains a bit (so they weren't completely washed out), and set that layer to soft light.

I took this for the inside back cover of a book. It'll have to be cropped down which is a shame :(
