Long time lurker, first time poster...

cyantistsnail1920x1200.jpg

I took this while visiting Kutna Hora, CZ in April 2008. I just happened to notice him minding his own business along the top of a wall near St. Barbara Church. I think it's a decent shot, but it really shows the flaws in this lens (Nikkor 18-200 VR), which I've since sold. It was OK for a walk-around, do-everything lens (especially for packing light while in Europe), but I've moved on. I bought the lens specifically for this trip to Europe, and, to be honest, I haven't missed it since. I learned a lot since this trip and will be packing differently on my next visit.

I will be posting up more of my favs from this trip using the same gear in the coming days... :)

Vimy Ridge Day in Canada

Folks nationally here are marking the passing of the last living Canadian soldier involved in WW1.... we are also marking Vimy Ridge day to commemorate a key battle that began 93 years ago. This shot is from my son's collection. He was a guide at the ridge a few years back. This is one of the monuments noting the loss of Canadian service men. I thought some of you might like to see it! i missed out on the big ceremony downtown in Ottawa today.

I should have cancelled my other plans although one would have cost me money for a late cancellation.

Sweet shot! Belongs on the cover of a Skiing Mag. Brave to use the strobe and camera in a snowstorm. Kudos

Okay, here is another food picture... Hopefully some improvement, otherwise I am going to give up on food pictures for now. At least until I am able to get a book...
