Wonderful, natural geometry. Well seen.

Interesting ripples in the water leading out to the rock. Do you know what created them?

Side note: I posted a comment in the current Fortnightly Challenge thread that is likely to go unnoticed since that thread doesn't see much traffic. This was on the Columbia River in Portland, I was looking downstream. The object he is on is actually some piece of wood that appears to be stuck as it was constantly moving up and down.

Sorry for the dumb question but... how do I downsize my pictures so I can post them? thanks :)

Almost stepped on this one while taking photos at the air show last fall… What type of spider is this and any issues had it actually bit my foot? The big part of the body was about an inch or the size of the upper little finger per se

This is one of a large and diverse group of spiders called Orb Weavers after the type of webs they spin. They are very common in the MidWest where I grew up. We called them Garden Spiders and almost every garden had one. They are harmless to humans (and artists, as well)...

First Nikon D800 Image: Alien Taxi Driver

Just received one of our two D800s early this week. Here is one of the first shots, little goofy and definitely a little soft, but am enjoying getting to learn the Nikon system.
