Many thanks to everyone who commented on my last photo. Of course such lavish praise and philosophical analysis is to be expected for a stunning masterpiece like that one, but I appreciate it nonetheless. Sadly and inexplicably, I find myself unable to recreate the magic that I had on April 1. The muse seems to have left me. I guess I'll just have to go back to working in my old style again, alas...

P.S. Seriously, I must say that the comments were even funnier than the photo. I was in stitches reading them. Too many good ones to reply individually!

You also forgot to put your name on the photo. Aren't you worried someone might steal it?? :)

Took this today of an amazing chandelier in the weekend retreat of the Rothschilds - Waddesden Manor.

I added the colour afterwards.

The inside of the Old Post Office in D.C. , home to the only food court where you have to pass through a metal detector before entering . Careful observation will reveal a couple of balloons attached to one of the cross beams . They're not floating around , but appear to be fastened . Seeing as there's another 4 or 5 levels below what is in the picture how did they get someone up there? Probably part of the optional 'festive balloon package' for kids birthday parties in the food court 100' below.

If you go on the last page of Photo of the Day: March 2013 then you will spot it - had some fun with a blow torch to make a smiley Easter egg. Not the greatest idea, but it kept me entertained for half an hour :D

A nice little idea and a good excuse to use the blow torch! I think the best thing about it is getting everyone involved for those little 20 mins to get a shot together. I do cringe at some of the people commenting on the facebook page about spending 5 hours on their entry...

Just got round to editing a recent batch of photos. Nothing spectacular about this shot but made me smile all the same!

As always, comments are welcomed!

My Mother (God rest her soul) being the most practical woman in the world would look at this shot and, even if it was the most incredible photo ever taken, would say: "Does he live in a barn? I hope he cleaned the rug after walking on it with his dirty shoes". :D

Reminds me of one of the massive Russian cargo planes.

"Reminds me of one of the massive Russian cargo planes." :) ...with landing gear down.

I hope this comes out small and I don't break the site

I've just got a new camera and just playing but liked this picture of my boys Pirate Ship. :)

Took this a few hours ago of my dog Marley with his bone biscuit. He was funny as he tried his best to bury it but the ground was too hard.

Caught that moment nicely..... Dogs are not easy subjects.

Here's one I caught when cycling around Bangwad Dam, Phuket's main water reservoir. It is a popular spot for people (and their dogs) to congregate to socialise or exercise of an evening.
