I would not like a stranger taking photos of me or my kids without my permission. One time we were at a public garden that draws a large amount of international visitors, and my then 3 year old son was smelling a rose looking all cute. A Japanese lady was beside herself and asked me if she could take his picture. I thought it was harmless to do so, but I was very appreciative that she asked first. As soon as I said yes, the rest of her group just started firing away! I wonder what happened with those pictures...Is he a friend of yours? Or just someone you happened to see and liked the framing? I like the idea of street photography but get hung up on the right to privacy kind of things. I know that in public there is no right to privacy, but often you still have to have a model release/permission if the person is identifiable.
