We celebrated my other granddaughter's birthday yesterday (she turned 10). Here she is showing off her personalized bookmark. (You can't tell what my life is about these days, can you? ;) These kids and my sick daughter who understandably doesn't want her photo taken...maybe when her beautiful hair grows back)~

This night the temperature was somewhere around -32º F -as you can see by the by the presence of "ice fog."

I remember the cold and permanent snow on the roads. My last site visit to Alaska and Bassett Army Medical Center in Fairbanks in December 2006. Our team of 3 designed all the communications systems and I did all the CAD submittal drawings. Beautiful building. Damn cold. I loved my time in Alaska, I will miss it.

Yes, it gets cold around here, but for the last few years we have had milder temperatures, at least compared to the early and late '90s. I remember driving to work at -35 degrees F. for days at a time. Then if the temperatures dropped to near the -40's (F or C) and colder, I would stay home :)
