Many years ago I fell in love with photography and bought my first "real" camera, a Minolta X-700. Over the next decade, people conspired to ruin my enjoyment of taking photos (long story), so I sold my gear and pretty much walked away. I've dabbled off and on since then, but never had the time to devote to learning the craft. Because of the ubiquity of cell phone cameras I'm starting to feel the return of that itch, so I've invested a bit in myself to see if I can light the fire again.

With thanks to @cjsuk and @OldMacs4Me for sharing their positive thoughts on the Z 50 series.

This is the Horse Drawn Tram that runs between Victor Harbour and Granite Island. This is on the new, recently built causeway. Unfortunately, the old causeway just became beyond repair and dangerous.

I feel a bit sorry for that horse pulling that large tram! It looks well cared for though 🙂

I'm sorry you had your enjoyment spoilt by others, it's a shame when that happens. Now go out and show 'em and have the last laugh!!! All the best, Ish 🙂

I watch Simon d'Entremont's YouTube videos, and I agree with him: some photos may not be the sharpest or technically perfect but are still great. Ignore naysayers and enjoy your photographs, regardless of others' opinions.

Only time I had an issue was when I tried to stop all the way down on a few images. Images were visibly softer. That said if you stop a stop short of minimum aperture, it's not gonna be an issue. That's also true of most long throw zoom lenses, regardless of the maker.

My problem was actually the opposite. People liked my photos for the most part, so I was thrust into the role of official photographer for everything, mostly at my own expense (this was in the film/development days). I was never able to just enjoy a moment or event without someone scrambling for me to do their work of capturing their moment for them, so in a fit of frustration I sold my gear and walked away.

Now, thanks to cell phones everyone has a camera, and I'm free to explore at MY will. But I reserve the right to post marginal photos here ;) Thank you for your kind words.
