I have flown many times from Toronto to northern Ontario on planes that were half passengers and half freight. All there was between the sections was heavy netting! I got on one flight and commented that the interior looked beatup, and the flight attendant said that they take out all the seats and partitions at night and fly freight then put the seats back in the morning!

google tells me this is a dark morph eastern swallowtail. i never realized it's the same butterfly as the yellow one, just different markings.
Hmm, we have black swallowtails here (saw my first one of the season just yesterday), though I can’t tell if that’s what you have or not with the contre-jour composition. I’ll post one tomorrow for comparison.
