What IS this cold, slippery stuff, anyway?
It was thick enough that the geese were able to walk on it without breaking through, unlike the previous time we had ice on the lake. It's gradually melting, though, and today there is plenty of water available for swimming and nobody's trying to walk on what remains of the ice.
When I was young, Disney had movie of geese try to land on ice. They would come in for a landing like is was water, then go ass over tea kettle when they hit. Remember my father laughing at the silly birds. Had to be over 65 years ago.
Hee, hee, these guys, in spite of the name Canada geese, actually were more than likely born and raised right here in the USA!
