Skating was pretty much hopeless that day, but the guy with studded tires sure had a blast.

A semipro dirt bike racer I knew said to try riding my dirt bike on the ice. I thought he was crazy, but it did help up my skill level, and crack a helmet too. No studs, not glare ice either, but it wasn't so bad riding on it. It sure accentuated everything. Another friend of mine actually bent his bars on the ice. It's not as crazy as one would think. Mostly... o_O

EDIT: My fat bike has studded Dillinger tires. Yeah, those studs are DAMN SHARP!!! I've gotten scratched quite a few times. Enough I actually moved it in the garage. (The wife says that takes a lot to get to that point.)

I am more concerned about the person who lost his body and just the boots remain on the ice.
:DThe boots are mine. I had just put on my skates then took the picture before attempting to skate on ice more than 2 feet thick, but the surface had recently melted and refrozen during a heavy warm west wind. There were literally tiny ripples on the surface making skating quite challenging. Tomorrow's post will better illustrate that.

maybe the journey isn’t so much about becoming anything. maybe it’s about un-becoming everything that isn’t really you, so you can be who you were meant to be in the first place // paul coelho
