On another forum we're doing a week of sharing images of our old photography gear. I don't have much old stuff now, but I went into a closet and retrieved my first digital camera, which I purchased in 1998: the Nikon Coolpix 900. Can't fire her up any more, but I dusted her off and shot a few images of her. This was such a unique and fun little camera to use, and I always loved her, fascinated by the possibilities of digital imaging.
So, this is the Hotel Maison Rouge, Cotonou, Benin. When I stayed there it was owned and run by a Parisian property man, Xavier, and his wife, Petra, a German art dealer and lover of the amazing local art. The entire place was an art space. Every room had art and every public space was a gallery and all the art was for sale (I didn’t dare ask how much).
Visitor's center at Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge. 3 image stitch, 70mm, B+W dark red (091) and UV-IR cut filter. ISO 200, f8, 1/640s. I really needed to do lens cast corrections for this but alas, did not (it was very cold, not dressed for it), hence some of the nonuniform light falloff on the edges.
