So I’ve had my 35mm for about a year and last weekend was the first time I really got to try it out and see what it can do.

AF can be patchy when there is flaring but it is certainly good fun.

As always, comments appreciated!

Hi folks...

I've been 'on the road' for about three weeks, but so busy that I've only just managed to sort out computer/wifi issues. Phew...

This is my home/office-on-wheels parked up in Wasdale...

Great Northern Loon

Loons are tricky to photograph well as they're always found in open bodies of water. The best shots are taken when then the air is still and the water very calm without a ripple. This means an early morning drive well north of the city and being out in a boat in the right place before sunrise.

It also means a long lens, low light and no tripod. :(

Hope you are enjoying yourself. Lovely shot. Hopefully now the wifi issue is now sorted we will start seeing a few more of them.

Photo of the Day: July 2014

I liked the darkness of the tunnel with a light at the end of it. Synonymous with my day it would seem.

MacRy, nice shot. Is that the building works next to Moorgate station? been seeing that a lot lately as I visit Wood Street alot.

Do you shoot B&W in camera to get an idea for how your shots will turn out?

Very rarely. I knew that I'd want that tunnel shot in B&W but I pretty much always shoot in colour to give me more options in post.

No it was Victoria Street somewhere I believe.

this is the last time I make an off topic post in POTD, but to be honest I am, for once, quite proud with myself. until recently, I had no idea I could scribble.

every day that I practice, I realize I'm getting better at depicting my imagination which had also been quite restricted. this will definitely help me expanding my creativity across all mediums I'm able to work with (photography, illustration, video, video composition).

very happy I purchased that wacom tablet. I discovered something about myself I always wanted to be able to do but never sought after.

I know they're not much to look at, but for what I thought I could do, I feel like I've leaped forward.

I will be resuming my photographic escapades, not to worry
