Figure 8

Lightning last night made for some interesting patterns over downtown Toronto - like this figure 8.

The dog that never rests. Thank goodness she isn't mine!

I hadn't planned on posting this one but I just finished editing this pic of my mom's dog when I saw Jessica's. They seemed to go together...

I really like this, except for the guy on the right side, i think he's a little distracting.

I was wondering how long it would take for someone to mention him. I 100% agree. I'm really happy with this shot, except for him. I tried cloning him out in PS, but it's not going to be an easy job.

But yes, I 100% agree that his presence detracts from this.

I can recommend the 'poor man's Photoshop': waiting for the guy to move out of shot before pressing the shutter... ;)

I thought it was you or some friend of yours that you wanted to be there.

That would have been nice, if he hadn't been playing with his kids in the area while I was trying to shoot. Stupid tourists, always getting in the way! ;)

Nope. Would have preferred not to have him there, but them's the breaks, I suppose. I would have been waiting for ages for him to pack up and go home, and I only had a few minutes to get the shot before I had to move on.

Ouch. You're really taking the piss out of me today! ;)

It's just my 'poor man's' attempt at humour... :)

But, well, there's always something - or someone - in the way... just as there's always (well, nearly always) a way to convert a photographic problem into a photographic opportunity...

Agreed. Lesson learned. Cityscape photography would be so much easier if people would just get out of my way.

Champs de Mars
Was that taken recently? I was there last week, but didn't get any truly decent shots of the tower as I was too pressed for time (and it was overcast). At least there's a break in the clouds for your shot!

Two weeks ago. Just before the rain started.

I like to include people in a lot of my landscape photographs, especially when I'm shooting for stock pic sales (I can offer versions with people and without). But too many people assume they're in the way, and stop walking. And don't get me started about people who walk in the country while carrying white plastic carrier bags: very unphotogenic... ;)
