Crappy old photo I found while moving some files onto my external HDD

I took this years ago with my old D40 on a trip down the Pacific North West coast to Newport Oregon. Man I love that state. The coast is so beautiful. I hate Canada, I think I need to defect :p

Wow! What a powerful image! The angle, the dark background (storm coming?), the pose, the facial expression, the lighting on his face, wind-blown hair, the angle ... Even with the piece of hair over his right eye and nose, this might be my all time favorite portrait. Job well done!

You know, the Americans still do let people visit. ;)

I'm planning a trip up to home (Vancouver) real soon. On the way back down to L.A. I'm thinking of driving along the Oregon & California coast. :p

i took a ride this evening at the local bike trail. I took the trusty point and shoot with me since it fits inside my under-seat bag. I can't say the same for the DSLR. :D

^Nice photo for a P&S. I like the isolated red on the biker. It gives the composition a center.

^Nice to see you away from the shore for a bit...The water is very still, what time of day did you shoot this?

Avante-garde woodpecker art. Medium: acorns and fence posts.

^I like the colors in this one. The warm tones of the foreground work well with the cool tones of the sky. Nice overall exposure, as usual.

+ 3 or so hours for NZ time - I forgot to change the camera clocks :)
When I was over there earlier this year it didn't become fully dark until 11pm, so you're in bed and photographers are busy outside snapping away in the golden hour :p

That's an inland lake Dale, not connected to the ocean, it was very peaceful.
The water running off the rocks from the snow capped mountains gives it that beautiful colour.

It's a cold rainy day out there today, time for a FF plugin...

Stand off.

Here's one I took in June a few years ago while on vacation in Nova Scotia. A foggy morning drive to Peggy's Cove.

Thank you. The clouds were very dramatic but it ended up blowing off. Made for a good picture anyway!

Fantastic! I really like the tones and definition you've given here.:)
