That is a nice backlit shot. We didn't stop at The Cobber's site, although we visited the Beaumont Hamel site and I took several shots of the memorials there. The Somme was a terrible battle for the Allies and regiment from Nfld. Some sites were overwhelming when you think about the loss. This was especially true for me at the McCrae Memorial. Partially because McCrae is from Guelph and partially because some the men are so young; one was 15. We only took seniors on the trip, so 15 is at least 2 years younger than most of the students.
 
I have been working on the perfect shot of Mt. Rainier. This is with my new lens and more knowledge about exposure.

^^^ Very nice effect. I can't wait for the weather to change here in Washington State. Flowering trees make wonderful subjects.

^^^ Great use of shallow depth of field. I agree that a stop down would have added to the sharpness in the foreground without adding too much detail to the background. Interesting composition and lighting.
