I like the limited 'colour palette', so that the eye goes to the bird's subtle plumage, instead of being distracted by something more colourful elsewhere in the composition. In UK we'd call it a flycatcher (or, possibly, a warbler)...

Why thank you for the compliments. I like the intimate feel the photo has as well. We call it a warbler :) I do not know the exact type though.

Hi Jay,

have you tried using a different color plate? With lychee with feta on a white plate looks, mmmm, kinda white. It makes the white of the lychee look dirty. (would love to taste it though...)

The scene was so wonderful, where you take these pictures? :p

Hi there. If you are asking about the big gun pictures before your last post, this was shot near Chaos Beach in Normandy. It is a German fortification at the top of a sheer cliff where gun turrets and machine gun fortifications overlooked the beach. You would not believe the thickness of the reinforced cement walls. They are pocked with shell marks you can put both hands into.

I agree about the color of the dish. Also I would have liked to see the corner of the plate be more in the corner of the actual frame. Did you use a flash on this shot?

I'm intrigued by this, is there a back story to this capture?

Warning, moderately large image :)

Dragonfly (not sure on species).

Dave

Incredible! Whats the EXIF on that image?

Canon 7D, EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5 IS @ 26mm, f/13 @ 1/400, ISO100.

Curious, when was this shot? I have lived in Las Vegas for over 20yrs and last month was my very first time out to Red Rock. Its nice out there, not sure what took me so long to venture up there.

more orbs!! still trying to get the background black, but i think it will be too difficult for this one. i don't even know how to attempt it. :(

or is it possible just to black out the square background and to see how it looks? what you guys think?
