D300, 17-55f/2.8 @ 24mm, 1/200, f/6.3, ISO200

I like the composition on this one and the colours are amazing!

The phrase "Wouldn't want to meet him in a dark alley" comes to mind!

An image I took earlier in the year.

I've been desperate to get out and shoot again, but with all the nasty weather in QLD lately & being busy with work I haven't.

Looking forward to some time off in April to get out & stretch the finger.

Another mythical creature that should be easily recognizable. Unlike the unicorn, I was able to get into a good position and fit the entire Pegasus in the frame. I'm glad because I really liked the dynamic pose.

Thanks! I was waiting for the sunset over the city last night and the clouds screwed me. So I stuck around in the cold and took some night shots. Here's another from the same bench that I didn't like as much.

No worries man :) lucky you did, such a nice shot.. I might just have to ask for a high res version for a wallpaper :D it really is a stunning shot man.. the light cast across the benches, the city lights in the background.. it almost looks so isolated, just the bench and the city.. you can image someone sat there alone staring out into nothing with just their thoughts.. really is a fantastic photo :)
I know a photos good when it makes me think all sorts like that!

Yes, the second one is alot worse if im honest! pillar is too light, horizons off, catches no element that the first one did. stick with the first; its a great picture.

It's the south rim of the Grand Canyon, on the Kaibab Trail near Skeleton Point. Thanks for looking and commenting!

haha awesome, looks stunning! i'm not always sure about black and white landscapes but the contrasting light across the hills looks awesome! no worries man, it deserved it :)

again, you dont fail to impress :D looks alot like a wallpaper I have! Again, beautiful shot man :)

Don't worry y'all the robins were flying back north last week.. you northerners will be warming up soon enough..

Thanks for the kind words! I've only been really shooting for a year so I've been trying to get out and shoot as much as possible. I try to post a bunch and get as much criticism as possible to help me improve. It's nice when someone really likes a shot!

That shot is fantastic. outstanding light, nice bokeh, beautiful subject!

Mine for today.

Shot this for a contest a week or so ago. The contest subject was "the end". Saw this walking and thought it fit for the end of an era. No one uses payphones anymore. Got a lot of flack for not removing the can on the ledge but it didn't bother me as I was documenting the scene.

Here is the EXIF data from the photo.

EXIF Summary: 1/3000s f/4.0 ISO160 200mm (35mm eq:401mm)

Camera-Specific Properties:

Equipment Make: OLYMPUS IMAGING CORP.

Edit: They make some nice lenses for that camera. Nice to see something that didn't turn out to be Nikon of Canon.

Forgot to mention this was the first shoot with my new speedlight. Decided to get one rather than upgrade to a fullframe (few more months :) ). Still loving this little Rebel XS.

Olympus Zuiko 50-200mm f/2.8-3.5 at f/4, about 50 yards away (it's a fair amount of crop)

I was knee deep in the water- the lens w/ body combo E-5 is weather sealed.Does well even with a 2x teleconverter, which on Olympus makes 400mm = 800mm in 35mm equivalent.. perfect surf setup imo. Here's one wide open with the t/c, original resolution after crop.

Here's mine for the day, part of a series I just started yesterday. I'm photographing Starbucks cups that are used and naming the photos by the name of the person's cup. Let me know what you guys think, I'll post more throughout the days.
