Your model photos are insane in my opinion. I love them! keep up the great work you've improved tons!!!

That was shot under the United States Naval Academy Bridge in Annapolis MD. Here is another shot from the same spot just looking out at the Naval Academy more.

@SVD thanks. I wasnt too keen on some of my earlier stuff either. I knew how I wanted to express myself but didn't know my camera well enough to. It's good to know my stuff is appreciated, thanks for the compliment. I only have the xs, 24-70L, and the speedlight. I do have studio strobes and backdrops and stuff but thats it.

I'm thinking camera upgrade for me in a few months when I get more practice in. I'll post another cool one from the bridal shoot, check it out :D
No worries man. Yeah I know exactly what you mean - I just didn't know it quite well enough to get out of it what I wanted. Oooohh you lucky son of a bitch, that it the lens I want so bad! We seem a bit too similar haha! I thought it was L glass, I know it when I see it! How do you recommend it as a lens? I really need to start saving for it.. You should upgrade to the t2i or 7D if you can afford it, both great cameras, I can personally recommend the t2i! Besides, we seem to do everything else the same so you may as well get one :p Haha awesome, thats a nice one man :) I'd normally comment on the overpowering light of the sun but It really works here! :)

Mine for today.. one of the nicest I've ever taken IMO! Taken on a walk around Bollington, Cheshire, UK.. Still with the 50mm 1.4.. can't fault this lens!

More muddy action!

I like the frozen mud spray in this. framing is a bit off because that red on the left is a flag, annoying. Oh, and it's soft too, so technically a pretty bad picture I suppose, but I still like it :) Reminds me of days as a kid in the park playing football and sliding 10m on a tackle.

@SVD yah I love the 24-70 and as a first L it has been good to me. Shooting with it is a breeze. At 2,8 it's great and even better stopped down a bit. Especially with flash/studio lights. Camera upgrade is next on the agenda. I can safely say that the 24-70 has been my studio's workhorse the past few months and made me quite a bit of money. If I hadn't built that system in my sig, I would have a 5dmk1 right now but I opeted for a better computer for Adobe and a speedlight with some money I made last month.

Get the 24-70 and you'll love it! The 7d /50,60d's I may also consider as viable upgrade paths. I'd love a 50d.

Photographed today at lake Leamy in Gatineau, near Ottawa. Very difficult to shoot them without a gazillion branchs around them, but then again, that is their environnement ;)

Here's one of the better shots of a cup I was experimenting with last night.

We had a set of those same cups when I was a kid. Your photo just took me back in time.

Outstanding capture! Excellent composition, color, and sharpness. Great catch light in the eye and just the right turn of the head to show off the crown and beak. I also like how the right part of the frame communicates the tangled nature of his habitat but is enough out of focus to be a subtle background element. I'd probably dodge that big white spot to his right a bit, but other than that, it's a terrific photo.

I decided on showing dinosaurs. For this particular creature I wanted to see if I could somehow show both the detail in the bones and the size of the creature at the same time. I think I found the only place to frame it that does just that. This thing stretches across the entire atrium. The coloring just "felt right" when I was playing around in aperture with some effects presets I have.

That is pretty amazing. One of the best photos on here of birds I have ever seen. Striking colors and very memorable. Is that a Cardinal?? I don't know birds ;D. I bet your raw file was pretty nice!

Many thanks folks. I'm glad you like it. ;)

EXIF: Canon 40D, Canon 400mm 5.6 @ f/6.3, ISO 320, 1/1000sec, fill flash, subject distance was 6.5 meters, 25% crop.

@ Jason: Yes, its a male Cardinal.

I feel like I must visit Vancouver and Canada in general, as I see so many great photos in this thread from here.

Canada is sweet! I'm slowing planning a road trip across Canada from end to end. I'd love to visit places further north but I'll have to stick around close HWY 1 and major cities.

Vancouver is neat but it's UBER EXPENSIVE!!!!! In my opinion that is. I feel everything is overpriced and the city doesn't help out much.

Thanks! That's a small stream that flows into the Seymour River near my house.

This is similarly awesome... I like the layers and clouds as well as the lights from downtown. I'm guessing this was shot from Queen E Park?

Duuuude! Seymour River is so long! I guess I'll start at one end and work my way down until I find your little hidden jem :p

Thanks for the compliments! It really means a lot to me. Yes, Queen Elizabeth Park right beside the restaurant where the statues are. I wish I was like 30 feet tall cause those trees kind of bug me. I heard Kensington Park has a great view as well? I'm gonna check it out tonight perhaps.
