ImageShack are now capping the number of pix you can upload: any more than 500 and you need a premium account. So I deleted a load. Of course, if I'd thought about it for more than two seconds, I should have deleted the oldest shots first. Ah well...

Or just made another account?

;) :)

King's Cross Station, London

The new roof to the redeveloped King's Cross station. Need to take my wide lens there, this pic doesn't do it justice!

A rare sight... a Mirage piston driven espresso machine based on the original design of the 1940's. Hence the term "pulling" a shot. :) (and it costs the same as a small car!)

Very atmospheric, good job :)

How wa this lit? Was it an off camera flash?

Thank you! Unfortunately, I can't take credit for any of the lighting. You can see in This Picture that the room is lit primarily with can lights in the ceiling. I was in the far chair and he was in the near chair with a light almost directly over him.

He bought this house and completely gutted it and started from scratch with everything and now it is 90% complete and absolutely beautiful. I recently spent a few days of my vacation out there and kept my camera at my side most of the time, this was just a spur of the moment shot.

Ahh I understand now...thank you!

Recently I have been trying to get a better understanding of light and shadow to try and make shots more interesting, and trying to get to grips with lighting..its definatly not as easy as it looks :confused:

For me this shot has a good range from specular highlights to deep shadow, it definatly makes it stand out out...

I was thinking in term of lighting from the front...which is why i couldnt quite figure out the shadow were formed....now it makes more sense!!:):)
