Well tell them where to stick their catchlights! Most people seem to really like it, but I had one person (not here, but on a photo board) tell me it was unsuccessful because it didn't have catchlights.
Not every photo has to follow the same rules.

Molly, I say, "Meh." It's still a great photo IMO.
My photo for today. I tired out a loaner tilt shift lens and created this pano with some help with PS.

Since you included the exposure info, I just have to ask/comment: ISO 800 and 1/4000th sec for a static subject seems like an odd exposure choice. Manual mode for some other subject and you forgot to change settings for this pic? Or were you using an auto mode and the camera made some odd choices? Or perhaps you were driving by in a car and wanted to freeze any motion? Just odd to me since by using ISO 800 you may have lost some sharpness/contrast/dynamic range by effectively underexposing the image (as opposed to ISO 400 and 1/2000th sec, ISO 200 and 1/1000th sec, or ISO 100 and 1/500th sec). Depending on the camera, higher ISO values have a tendency to introduce banding in skies (since you can get gaps in the tonal range with higher ISO values--again varies by camera).
First from my trip to Barcelona then. Not one of the usual spots, but down the road from our hotel.

Glad it wasn't my actual hotel though!

Very nice work, but do be mindful of the one shot per day rule!Early this morning a photo walk around my city - Brisbane, Australia.View attachment 825540 View attachment 825538View attachment 825539
Agreed. Hard to get it right though isn’t it? I’ve done more photo editing today than I normally do in a couple of months.![]()
Probably a bit heavy handed editing here.![]()
