Where’s the photo, bruv?Another from the 1987 Cripple Creek set. Taken near Victor, CO.
In the foreground the foundations for the leaching operation. Just behind that the foundations of a stamp mill. Battle Mountain mine heads in the background. Top far right you can just see the giant equipment starting to nibble awauy the tailings piles. They would be crushed, loaded onto 250 ton dump trucks, and transported nearer to Cripple Creek, where they would be leached in cyanide to remove the gold.

Oh there you go he edited his post my bad. But thank youI believe it is around here.
In the mid '80's I was pretty familiar with the area but that was before the open pit started operations. Holy smokes, the area certainly has changed in the the last 40 years. The area where the pit is was a mishmash of the remnants of underground mines. There was a small surface operation where you could see the drifts that had been exposed from the removal of material.
Ah, another Credence fan!~/.I see a bad storm a'risen, I see trouble on the way./~

Thank you so very much @Allyance. My photography has had to take a backseat to family matters as of late, but I hope to get back to it some day soon. Your kind words are truly appreciated. You got me listening to music all day with your Credence quote, then I clicked on your Flickr site and I have spent the last hour admiring your talent, you are truly accomplished.
I got my degree in Photography back in the early sixties. After being around so many creative people at RIT, I soon realized I didn't have the talent to earn a living at it. I took alot of decent photos in college. Fortunate to buy a Hasselblad and I refurbish a 4x5 Sinar view camera that was in a fire. In 1967 I opened a HI-Fi record store, thus the interest in music. I should have kept up my interest in photography, but it wasn't until digital cameras and computer got me interested again. I got an Olympus E-10 SLR, great camera even though it was only 4 mega pixels.Thank you so very much @Allyance.
