Bit of a vanity shot here... Just got my new tripod :D. (Please don't ask me while I'm still using a $120 point and shoot)

AA battery included for scale

How I would love to have that rig for the race tracks. :(

Very nice photo.

Me too Clix Pix you get the awesome bird shots... must have the patience of a saint!:p I'm saving up for a weather-sealed 90-250mm f/2.8 that will give me an equivalent reach up to 1000mm with a 2x converter (4/3)... I'm only about $6 grand away from a surf photographer's wet dream!:D

Thanks, RaceTripper and srf4real!

Yep, the 300mm f/2.8 is one awesome lens, with or without a TC. I was surprised at how well it performs with the 2x TC, as often that can be problematic.

"Patience of a saint?" Naw.... This shot was taken right on a friend's front porch. The entire front yard is filled with bird feeders of all kinds, which attracts many feathered friends. This bluebird had been over near the bluebird house and I had almost given up on being able to get good shots of him from where I was positioned (there were other photographers and their rigs set up, too), and then suddenly the little rascal landed right in front of me and began posing! It was so funny! We all got some great shots of him!

really nice colors and sharp focus, not sure about the crop, though.

Lovely shot of it ! My daytime shots from previous visits were ruined by haze or rain, I need to go here and spend a bit longer to get a decent daytime shot.

Nice photo bld44. At first it seemed the bokeh was very distracting, but by the second time I saw it I really liked it. I don't know how to describe the impression it gave me, "strong" perhaps. All in all really nice photo:), shame for the leafs that appear at the bottom tho.
