Film is awesome.

I dunno... it kinda looks like a camera phone pic... fuzzy and noisy. :(

Part of the problem is probably the large aperture. I have trouble seeing a point that is in focus. Otherwise, I like the atmosphere of the shot…

Maybe crop most of the dark foreground out?
I guess this pic would have benefited from a grad ND filter. I don't own one myself, but just yesterday started looking into getting one, maybe.

Headlands, Oregon coast

The sun was still a bit high in the late afternoon which was also a bit hazy from some onshore mists, and I got some strange color banding in this shot...I haven't seen that before. Most likely some flare since I didn't use the hood...

The first landscape photography workshop went really well, I think. Of course, it ain’t so hard to rhapsodise about photography and the landscape when the light is so obliging. :) There’ll be tougher sessions... like when it rains for days on end (a bit of a Lakeland speciality). :( This is the lake - Rydal Water - where we were based for the weekend...

Thank you and no I didn't. Just a hand held shot with the 18-105 VR kit lens.

bloody hell, thats impressive then! :)

Hey remember movie theaters? Those things people used to go to all the time.

Wow, i love that! nice shot man! :D

I feel this shot would benefit from a greater DOF or maybe adjustment of the focus so both eyes are in focus. I find myself wanting less blur in this shot.

My very first post! Having fun with my new D90:)

Nikon D90, 18-105VR, 26mm, ISO 400, f/4, 1/3200
^ Nice photo, but it needs a bit of cropping. The branch on the upper right is distracting. The horizon seems a bit too close to the center of the frame. Just my thoughts.

one of my photos from the ash cloud sunset series still.

I like this a lot. Click for larger version, the colors came out nice and warm.
^ The colors in this photo are indeed stunning and unusual. What is in the foreground to create the red? Tulips?

A friend of mine and I went to the park on Bank Holiday monday to have a second attempt at kite flying photography.

^ I like the angle you used for this one. It is unique and pleasing. The DOF is a question for me. I'm not sure I like the kite out of focus, but I'm not sure I would like it in focus either. If I had both shots in my editor, I would have a hard time choosing the right one. Nice.

That. Is. So. Freaking. Cool.
^ Two pointers here. First, use tags for quoting. See post #1. Second, Please tell us why you like the photo. Colors, setting, framing, sharpness and such. We all want that kind of info so we will know what we did right.

Yup, it was set to 2.8, in realisation, on film, that's really not that viable.

Still I love the grain that the high ISO gave it. Looks very vintage, which is the look I was going for really.

My Dog

1st shot with my Sigma 70-200 f2.8. Still need to play around with a bit with the settings, focused on here left eye, but the nose is out of focus. Seems like shooting in Aperture Priority mode works the best with hand held? On a tripod, Manual seems the best? Any thoughts

I spent a couple days getting skunked on that river, while my buddy picked up a couple beautiful steelhead, some many years ago.

Nice photo.

Great photo.

Wow, Thanks guys! I was actually there to hike up The Chief and I was hoping I could catch some Bald Eagles with my camera but nothing in sight. Couldn't even find a nest. So I just embraced the beautiful scenery. It's so peaceful. I saw the huge herd of dolphins (if its even called a herd) but my 18-200 sucks! I need 500mm ultra super sonic mega death ray lens!
Thanks again! :) Means alot!
