I haven't been around in awhile and there is way too much stuff to quote and comment on, so I'll just throw another image on the pile today.

In the morning I'll be off to the mountains until the 14th. I'll be at my parents lakefront cabin recovering from a back injury. I guess I'll have time to catch up in image processing and reading since my only connection to the outside world will be a landline phone, the only other modern amenity is electricity  I had to cancel my vacation to Glacier next month, but good health is more important than a road trip.

Really sorry to hear about the back injury, Lumberman. Having to cancel a vacation is a real pity, but at least you'll have a nice place to recover and get caught up on processing and reading. Thanks for leaving us with a lovely tulip to remember you by for the next couple of weeks. :)

Hi Guys, great photo's so keep up the good work. Here is my effort from today. I only have a cheap point and shoot (Samsung D1070) so go easy on me. Did a minimum amount of editing with OnOne Perfect Photo Suite.

I'm not Siegfied or Roy you know! Dudley Zoo actually. It was one of those rare days we get my Autistic daughter out. Sadly it was raining so most animals were taking shelter. I love big cats though.

I love big cats, too. And when I was in London, I saw the most incredible silverback gorilla at the London Zoo. We stared at each other for several minutes, and the intelligence behind those eyes was palpable!

My best wishes to your daughter..I hope all is as good as it can possibly be for her...:)

Today was a good day. You take them when you can.

When were you in London? Did you get a chance to sample some of our wonderful tea houses whilst you were here? Much better than that toxic stuff you drink!

I agree with P. Speedy recovery. Bummer about missing Glacier, they just finished plowing the mountains of snow to try to open the Going To The Sun highway, but we've been hit with waves of much needed rain out here and they may have had some more snow dumped anyway. Maybe some short ventures from the lakeside cabin, with some postings when you return from internet hibernation?

I was in London many years ago...proably 15 years ago. I don't drink tea :)o), except once on Victoria Island, B.C. having High Tea in the Palm Court of the Fairmont Empress Hotel. I asked our lovely server for a really strong tea, suited for a coffee drinker. I believe (but not sure) she brought me Darjeeling...OK for tea.

I'm a coffee freak...espresso only. I roast my own beans, so you can imagine my demented commitment to my coffee.

I had a most wonderful time in London!:D

At the bird park that I went to the other weekend they have a place called the landing zone where you buy a seed stick and the parakeets land on you and eat. It was a very cool experience. This was one of the many birds that paid me a visit.

Cool shot! My fiancé and I will be in Scotland for our honeymoon in October...so far our trip will take place in Edinburgh, Pitlochry and then a few days in London. Do you have any recommendations for while we are there, especially great photo ops?? Thanks in advance!
