one of the first images from the Yashica. There is not a light leak on the right side, it's just a poor scan but I'm not going to redo it. I like the camera, love the DOF I'm getting. But this roll all turned out really glowy in the highlights throughout for some reason. Most images do have sharpness where the exposure is more midtones/shadows. Was chatting with some film friends last night and they think the lens was smudged, which of course I wouldn't really notice in a TLR. Hopefully this was just a one roll thing. I have to see if my developer is any good and I might try a roll of bw again today to confirm it was just a smudgy lens. This was Lomo 400 because it was the only thing I had at the time, but I have since purchased some Tri-X and Kodak Gold.

You could take the back off and view through the lens to see if there are any imperfections, haze. Otherwise, a fairy tale image.

I cleaned the lens inside and out this morning and ran a roll of bw through it. Since the shutter is inside the lens, I can't really look through it.

My developer is mostly expired so not sure how good of a test this will be, but the roll is drying right now. however, I don't think it has the haze the first roll had, but will have to scan later to be sure.

If the shutter has a time/bulb mode you could use that to aid in inspection.

My first camera was a Yashica-Mat EM. If it's similar to your 124, you should be able to open the back (when there's no film inside ;)), open the lens to its widest aperture and set it to BULB. Then just press and hold the shutter, and you can look through the lens. Hold it up to a room light and see if there's fungus, or a smudge.

I hope you enjoy it, those are great, fun cameras!

The iconic U.S. Bank Tower (Los Angeles) is locally known as Liberty Tower. A skyscraper in downtown Los Angeles, California. It is, by structural height, the third-tallest building in California, and the second-tallest building in Los Angeles.

The central core structure has a frame that is reinforced in two directions. From the 53rd floor up, horizontal forces caused by wind or earthquakes are dampened by two struts, which are each one floor high. The U.S. Bank Tower can be seen from anywhere in Los Angeles.
