Humphreys Peak by Moonlight

3872862243_22cc70b33f_b.jpg

Our local anthill by moonlight, Humphreys Peak (12,300 ft). My girlfriend and I enjoy driving 30 minutes to camp at the edge of a meadow with great views of this peak. After years of saying I'm gonna do a night shot there, I finally did. I think when I go back I'll try again with out the bright moonlight on the veil of clouds.

hi guyz i'm new to this forum took some photos with my canon eos 500d
i'm a newbie to photography so critics and comments are widely open tanx

sorry can't post my photo can anyone help me please i think it's too large

It's best if you first have your photo hosted somewhere online. Then when you make your post to this thread, click on the little yellow icon in the reply box that looks like a snapshot of a mountain and sun. Paste the URL of your photo in the dialogue box that will appear. If you uploaded it online full-size, then edit the "IMG" tags to read "TIMG" instead; this will make a reduced version appear in the thread here.

Oh, and welcome to the daily thread! :)

do I see basalt (flows) capping the hills in the background, and the pillar in the foreground is basalt? I noticed a flow in a earlier pic of a waterfall. They seem common around there. Where have the trees gone? In British stoves?:D

I'm no geologist... but this area - known as the 'Dark Peak' - is known for its gritstone outcrops and eroded, weathered rocks...

I thought I was the only person in the known universe who'd never seen The Sound of Music (or Star Wars...). But the image of Jule Andrews prancing around a field is burned into my eyeballs.

Love this forum, always good things to see, and/or read.

btw... I havent seen either, nor have i seen Titanic, or any of the Die Hard series!

Just got back from a trip down the Pacific Northwest Coast. I was staying in Newport, Oregon and it's a beautiful place!

Here is Cape Creek, Lane County, Oregon.

One of the better pictures I've taken, my main limiting factor at this point is this crappy kit lens I have to deal with because I'm a poor college kid haha.
