Hello everyone. I have been lurking this thread for a while now and really enjoyed all of the great photos posted here everyday. I figure it is time to come out of the shadows and join in.

This is a photo I took when I first got my 7d. Trying to capture the splash was harder than I thought.

Please let me know what you think.

Howdy and welcome to the thread. What a fantastic shot to introduce yourself with!

I tried and tried to get a similar shot on Saturday just gone at a Japanese garden of the water bowl where you wash your hands upon entry, with no luck though. I'll have to go back and not have time limits this time.

One more from last night ...

These shots are great. Were you on a boat when you took these? If so how did you keep everything steady enough for that long?

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome.

Here is mine for today.

Lighthouse Keeper's House at Sunrise by boundinlightphotography, on Flickr

Took this on vacation this summer in Maine. It was on a cool little Island called Monhegan Island. I got up very early so I could be at the lighthouse for sunrise.

Many Thanks ! ... Actually , I was on dry land on the opposite side of the Hudson , in Liberty State Park in NJ . Had the camera on a tripod with a remote release , got there a bit before sunset and staked out what I thought would be a good spot , set up , and did a series of shots every 15 minutes or so . Must have been 500 people there, some were just hanging out , some at the NJ 9-11 Memorial and a lot trying to get pictures of the towers of light. After a while I moved some distance down the walkway for the second shot . Here's one from earlier , just before sunset.

At night in winter. Probably the least saturated I've ever seen a color photo from camera turn out.
