Man, that plane is packed!!

There should be roughy 250,000 phones on that 747. :apple:

Sure, all someone has to do is go run onto the tarmac. Something tells me they wont get far at all.

Posts like these genuinely creep me out.

I've never had a preloaded iPhone. What is this magic you speak of?

Yes. When I read the the arrival time and location of the Chicago flight I kind of cringed. Probably a bit too caught up in having pics for the family.

Being this is a Apple Contract he might be in hot water. Might just receive a verbal. Might be, "what quote?" :apple:

OK lets do some math.

Assuming that the load in this aircraft is all iPhone 6+ units which weigh about 6 oz. and we give 10 oz. for the packaging, that means that each iPhone and shipping is 16 oz or near 1 pound per unit.

If he is carrying 256,000 pounds of iPhones then he has 256,000 iPhones on board. Since iPhone 6's weigh only 4.55 oz. or 1.52 oz lighter, then he can carry more units.

One of the early rumors said Apple was preparing to ship 60 million phones this means that it will take 234 plane loads like this to carry all those phones.

Tim Cook was originally brought to Apple because of his expertise at logistics.

One would think they would have needed this for the Plus ;)

That's allot of iPhone's. and to Alaska..

We reach far, and wide :) How many phones would be in one of those.

Okay, you do not want to see the point.

Let me try again:

When I (Apple) pay for the transportation of my goods, I do not want ANYBODY
to know about it for a variety of reasons.

Security, Press, Competitors etc.etc.

How does this pilot have the right to publish confidential information?

And, again why doesn't/didn't he do this with all the freight he is/has been
flying?

Apple = headlines comes to mind.

On a personal note, I do not care to know when these phones come into the country and where and when they get distributed.

I am from a generation that knows how to wait and doesn't need the latest gadget or my life ends.
(See some of the entitlement posts in other threads)

As always, I'll wait for ample supplies in the stores, will hold one in my hand to decide 4.7 or 5.5 and will also wait for the first report of "ISSUES" as these only settle after about 3 months.

The entire frenzy is silly in my book.

Holy cow you are a miserable person. Just leave this thread. Ironically you have the biggest sense of entitlement with your moronic posts and expectations out of others.

How much does insurance cost for that load? That's $136.5 million worth of devices, assuming an ASP of $700.

What's also interesting is that they're not being shipped via UPS/FedEx from the factory, which is what Apple used to do.

China Cargo is one of many companies that Apple uses to transport products to the west including, TNT, AeroLogic and Lan.

This is a 777, not a 747. It says “777” right in one of the pictures.

The Pilot -- from the first picture -- says he's flying a 747. All airplane pilots -- no exceptions -- know what kind of airplane they are flying.

Plus a $320m airplane :D

That's outright purchase.

You'll have to check with Boeing, but I'm pretty sure 747's are cheaper on a two-year plan.

Two things, first, I would expect the pilot to get fired for that stunt.

Second, that's a plane worth robbing right there. Anchorage is your best bet apparently...

Breaking: company using planes to ship products from a continent to another.

Thank you, MR. That was worth reading.
