Sonny Dickson has posted new photos showing alleged parts from a "graphite" colored iPhone 5S, which could be a fourth color choice for the phone in addition to the expected black and white choices, as well as the all but confirmed "champagne" color option. The photos show the device from numerous angles with the back, front, and screen housing assembled, and also show it next to the champagne iPhone 5S and iPhone 5S screen assembly.

Up to this point, it has widely been thought that the iPhone 5S will only come in 3 colors: Gold, Slate, and white with silver trim. According to a new images we've obtained, however, it appears the iPhone 5S may also come in a 4th color - a grey or graphite color with a black trim.

Last week, Dickson also posted an expansive photo gallery highlighting numerous alleged iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C parts in addition to high-quality photos of the champagne color iPhone 5S.

Meanwhile, repair shop mendmyi has posted a comparison photo showing volume/power buttons and mute switches in the new graphite color, as well as champagne, next to slate and silver buttons from the iPhone 5. The shop claims that Apple may be planning to make graphite and gold the only two color options for the iPhone 5S, but several previous leaks have shown both slate and silver rear shells as seen for the iPhone 5.

Determining the authenticity of various colors of parts is also difficult due to the prevalence of knockoff parts and anodization of legitimate parts. For example, early photos of a gold iPhone 5S rear shell appear to have been inaccurate, as several other part leaks since that time have shown the much more subtle champagne coloration expected to be available for the device.

Apple will reportedly unveil the next-generation iPhone on September 10, and will likely unveil not only the iPhone 5S but also the lower-cost plastic iPhone 5C. Both devices are also rumored to launch in the first wave of markets on September 20.

now gold/champagne doesn't seem too strange or odd or the "big thing" people were worried about.

this shows it is part of a new color lineup...possibly,

Now these leaks are getting to be to much. I like to know whats up but is anything still a secret any more? Just start selling them already. There's nothing left to reveal on the 10th.

I still think having many colors is a bit silly since most people I know accessorize their phone by putting it in a case anyway, but I do like the graphite.

Given that the 5C is set to be released in a number of colors, it only makes sense that the 5S would be as well. Bright, playful colors for the less expensive version... muted, metallic, "luxury" colors for the 5S.

I dig the slate. Probably less fingerprint-prone than the black, but still dark and industrial.

I just wish they could get rid of those bars at the top and the bottom on the back on the phone. They make the back look weird, and they don't fit in with the rest of the colors.

Hopefully they will with the iPhone 6.

It makes sense, two with black trim and two with white.

Can anyone determine any changes to the home button based on the photo?
I am not knowledgeable enough to determine such a thing.

This is becoming more of a problem as I intend to pre-order from the Apple site but now I don't know which color to get (presuming rumors are true) as I won't be able to see them in the flesh before buying!!

Decisions, decisions!

I just want one with a bare aluminium side/back and all-black front, giving it the iPhone 4 overall look but in the light aluminium frame of the 5/5S.

Another surprise gone from the September 10th event :D Oh well. This is a nice direction for Apple to go. Choices in color for both the 5S and the 5C.

Graphite Haswell 17" rMBP?

Sign me up for a graphite Haswell 17" rMBP. That would be sharp!

Is it odd of me to think that based on these photos that the white and slate are now changing to champagne and graphite, and will be the only two 5S choices? Probably wrong, but just a thought.

I wonder if they are using the same materials, where is all of the recycling and jibber on the back? Same with plastic version..

I still think having many colors is a bit silly since most people I know accessorize their phone by putting it in a case anyway, but I do like the graphite.

I agree. Most cases cover the whole back and the sides, leaving only the screen and top/bottom bezel exposed. Neither the color or the material would matter for those users. Unless people want to risk of damaging their phone in order to show off it's colors.

Holy SHENANIGANS that graphite is hot!

I dunno, I think I'd still go with classic black though. But what am I talking about. Until I'm making more cash it's iPhone4 for me.
