Stop saying NEXT Tuesday. The event is THIS Tuesday, the 10th. NEXT Tuesday would be the 17th...

Well, I've had every iPhone since the very 1st one and I've stood in line a few times. Why? It was an event, It's something to do with some great people...

I also went to see Kid Rock, Uncle Cracker, and ZZ Top last night, although, using your reasoning, I could of just turned on the radio...

Having it shipped then would be like having Kid Rock play at my house live. The end result is the same.

Stop saying NEXT Tuesday. The event is THIS Tuesday, the 10th. NEXT Tuesday would be the 17th...

I would count this coming tuesday as next tuesday. It's just a language thing. Some people speak about days and weeks using the weekend being the end of the week as a point of reference.

We're all different. Calm down.

Every day, with more and more parts being leaked, iFixit's job of disassembling an iPhone 5S/5C becomes less mandatory. With all the leaks we have seen so far fro these upcoming phones, one could literally remake the iPhone 5S/5C from the pictures shown.

This has to be the most leaked iPhone in the history of the iPhone's existence.

Sorry if i sound condescending, but this is getting ridiculous....

Tuesday will tell us if these rumors are rumors or if they are indeed legit news for the new phones...

Many things have been leaked but not all. We still never truly saw the iPhone 5S front panel. We never saw fingerprint scanner. Specs are still up in the air including camera.

That makes it even more mysterious. Since we've never seen the front, we couldn't debunk the rumor.

As indicated by Twimfy, linguistically speaking, this is a grey area. And, as a graduate student in Linguistics, I'm qualified to make such a claim. Please calm down. :)

Looks like you've already been properly chastised...
Just adding a +1 to every one else's recommendations that you chill out & get over yourself.

Thursday on craigslist: "New in box" 5Cs are for sale at prices above and below retail prices (some might have serial numbers scraped off).

Friday: Apple announces software update to fix some bug (but it also makes "black market" iPhones have functional problems outside of their intended markets).

Saturday: Hackers find a way around Apple's "fix" so that iPhones work as expected again.
Nah, this won't be possible...

What I'm saying is that the 5C will have hardware and antenna that only works in china and certain other countries, won't work in US.

You do know that there are 3 models of iPhone 5 depending on country/carrier? http://www.apple.com/iphone/LTE/ none of which currently work in China?

Again my post was mostly jokes. However, I see almost no chance that Apple will roll out a cheaper iPhone (5) in plastic FOR CHINA ONLY.

Apple feeds the rumor machine much too well to allow this kind of very negative (PR) surprise to occur. If it was for China only, that rumor would already be out there and pretty much acknowledged as fact by this point.

I agree, and the multi-color invitation to the launch event on Tues indicates to me that the product will be in the US market. Why make so much fuss over something that wouldn't be available?

The "China only" rumors seem to be perpetuated by Apple fans who fear that a plastic iPhone will somehow damage the prestige of their favorite brand and/or make iPhones less exclusive.

This makes sense. Building a lower end product, you typically reuse as much tooling as you can and either omit parts or place in lower cost parts.

My take is its the same board for the 5C and 5S. The processor of the 5C and 5S are of a different grade but drop in replacements.

With this will come a fascinating aftermarket of upgrading a 5C to the performance of a 5S.

Won't happen. Note the Armor Plating on the 5C Board. Apple knows what people will try.

No way the Armor comes off and you have a working device. :apple:

Whoever expects the logic boards to be different doesn't know much about IC Design and how to maximize your designs with only your IC components differentiating the product lines.

What you don't see is the different A Series processor numbers and the LTE component numbers.

You should expect the logic boards to be identical with maybe more room made for more components to differentiate the two lines.

Yes, there's no reason to be arbitrarily different, and they'll keep the same SoC pinout if possible. In fact, the SoC may be the only difference between them.

The iPhone 5C and 5S will both have A7 processors the distinguishing differences being storage, plastic vs metal, different camera and fingerprint scanner in 5S. Both phones will share all other characteristics in function. Unfortunately the screen sizes are the same as iPhone 5. The iPhone 5C will indeed be faster (and a worthy upgrade) than the iPhone 5 which will be phased out entirely. There will be a champagne and graphite colored iPhone 5S but will only be available in 64GB. There doesn't appear to be a 128GB option as of yet. See you guys on Tuesday.........

HORRIBLE guesses. I think at best, you may be like one for seven.

Wow, I'm so impressed at the innovation. Sike!

You were expecting some wild innovation in the iPhone 5C logic board???
Like what..? Miniature portraits of the Mona Lisa etched into the circuit board? Wtf epic innovation could occur in logic board?

The only way I see them making it an A7 too is if they eliminate the 4,4S and 5 from the lineup and introduce some heretofore unknown feature or codebase in iOS 7 that demands it. Otherwise, it makes sense to have it as yet another differentiator between devices and it would be slightly cheaper in BOM cost.

I think I agree with you here on most everything, especially the processor. With a new market, new OS and new customers, I don't think Apple will want the new customer base to get behind on the newer features. That is also a reason to get rid of the 4 and 4s, so as to have everyone back on the same page. It behooves Apple not to have so many new customers with older technology to keep updated. Besides, even a lot of the newer cheap Android devices have the newest processors.

This.
But it is the Tuesday that is immediately coming up. When you are talking about the one subsequent to that, it is the next Tuesday. He even had to explain his statement by saying 'this' Tuesday to say that it is next Tuesday. That doesn't make sense.

Welcome to the internet, with speech patterns from all over.

It all depends on where you live. Even different parts of the USA use "next" differently. "This" has similar differences.

Then there's the variations like, "Tuesday week", which blew me away the first time I heard it :)

Don't even get me started on the time that I asked someone to "cut off a switch" (meaning turn it off) and they pulled out a pair of clippers. Just glad I didn't say, "mash the button". Hammer time!
