Welcome to the internet, with speech patterns from all over.

It all depends on where you live. Even different parts of the USA use "next" differently. "This" has similar differences.

.

People misusing language is a problem, but it shouldn't be tolerated.
This = now, current, in the present, the imminent one
next = in the future, ie following "this"
last = prior, previous, in the past

There's no room for debate on this one. Past, present, or future. Pick one.

How do you always have the 1st comment of every front page story?

Devine intervention ...

The most leaked iPhone was the iPhone 4. A completely working phone was leaked.

perhaps it is not an iPhone5,
Apple may have passed a dud and therefore maintain the mystery

LoL

Oh, I miss the days of the early internet, when it was mostly college students and professionals, and grammar mistakes were not easily tolerated.

I also think it does no one any favors to let them constantly look uneducated and then wonder why no one takes them seriously. However, most corrections should be done in email so as not to disrupt a thread.

That said, I emphasize once again that this particular phrasing is a regional thing, and that's that.

It's like the way that people in the Northeast say they're "standing on line" instead of "standing in line".... undoubtedly because of so many immigrants who were told to stand on the line drawn on the floors at Ellis Island.

We're just not going to be able to change it :)

No IPhone 5s

There are so many leaks for 5c that makes me believe there will not be a iphone 5s. I hope I am wrong!!

The iPhone 5C and 5S will both have A7 processors the distinguishing differences being storage, plastic vs metal, different camera and fingerprint scanner in 5S. Both phones will share all other characteristics in function. Unfortunately the screen sizes are the same as iPhone 5. The iPhone 5C will indeed be faster (and a worthy upgrade) than the iPhone 5 which will be phased out entirely. There will be a champagne and graphite colored iPhone 5S but will only be available in 64GB. There doesn't appear to be a 128GB option as of yet. See you guys on Tuesday.........

Sure.

I just hope that the Verizon version finally gets another antenna so I can talk and data at the same time.

Do you recall the blogger/journalist that picked up an iPhone that an apple engineer forgot? He claimed he thought the apple guy left it for him to pick up so he could do a story on the new phone. Many Lolz were had over this.

Just a tip that may help you once you enter he workforce to avoid looking like a goose, You can state your opinions as fact but you should do some research first in case they are wrong.

ironic you should be a stickler for facts -- because you have them all wrong in the case of the missing iphone4. the Gizmodo bloggers who ended up w/ the phone didnt pick up the device from the bar where the apple guy left it, they bought it from a random guy who did. that guy wasnt a journalist and didnt think they left it for him.
