I could see an ipad 3 or at least an ipad HD or ipad + coming out relatively soon. Supply of ipad 2's has just caught up with demand in my area. I think Apple will want to preserve their strong momentum that came from them being first on the tablet scene. Best way to do that is to stay ahead of the curve. Skate for where the puck will be, not where it is.\\

Different form factor too

This claimed iPad 3 part is different in form factor from the iPad 2 part (821-1180-A), so being white isn't the only difference.

With no measurements, this could be a red herring or the slightly rumoured side dock that was supposed to make it to the current iPad 2...

I'll wait and see what I have to try in vain to deny myself...

If it's got a retina display I'll melt and succumb in a heart beat and obediently drop my credit card (and my living standards I guess) to walk away with one...

...and out local Target got stuck with a number of the original iPads. They are throwing in a dock and a case with them. I guess as long as the cases and docks hold out...

I wonder how concerned Apple is with getting stuck with 'old' iPad 2's...

iPad 2's are pretty thin on the ground in the UK at the moment - I bought a 64gb wi-fi only one on Sunday but returned it today (one dead pixel, one stuck green and some light leakage on the left side). Interestingly the lady at John Lewis said they only accept returns if Apple authorise it (after trying to get me to send it off for 28 days...) but when she went to put it on the system it said "Apple no longer require case reports for this item". Seems the QC issues must be really common. Apple are getting bigger year on year but it seems it may be stressing current manufacture a little. Sadly I was just starting to enjoy the iPad but was not willing to accept flaws at £560!

Jimrod... you could not be more wrong, iPad2's are not in short supply in the slightest, just need to look in the right places. John Lewis is not somewhere that is getting a vast amount of them thats why.

This is a great leak... because it basically is telling us that Apple is considering different colors for the back.

I, for one, would love an all-black ipad, front and back so this is interesting to me. To speculate any further as to the specs or release date of the next ipad though is premature.

Could this not be the dock connector that is used in the ipad2 display stands in apple shops, they have a hole in the back (where the apple logo is) and a cable going in through there. Surely these will use a different dock connector cable because of this! It would also explain the right angle design as it comes out the back perpendicular to the body. It also fits that the decoded part reference had 'demo' in it. Sounds more feasible to me!
