So you want your iPad to look like this

You're mixing up a person with a machine. Honestly?

Apparently the OP cares because he is posting pictures of what he bought in a forum opening himself for opinions and criticism.

Opinions and discussions are okay. But what you're doing is disgusting. You're attacking a forum member personally because of a gadget's color (that YOU don't like)! That's shocking!

If you're so secure in what you bought why come here and post it? I don't see the point.

I can't see YOUR point. I'm absolutely secure  in what I bought believe me. I told you that's not my first iPad and I was always secure with them.

The best thing he can do now is put in in a case so that nobody can look at that back. At least he can look at his little gold touch ID ring.

I hate it to quote myself (I highlighted the important part for you):

Most of the time (especially outside my home) the Air 2 will be in this case (and NOT because there's something to hide).

It seems that you have a certain opinion about my person because of an iPad I bought—completely disregarding what I'm saying. So for me there is no further discussion possible with you. The last thing I wanted to do with my photos is having to "defend" a thing or color against your ignorance. I'm afraid that you are just jealous my dear… At least you're sounding like that.

If you guys were my friends and we were at a party and you pulled out a Gold iPad I would get up and never talk to you again.[/COLOR]

Well it's a great thing you're not my friend. Because I don't have idiotic friends like you.

That's the problem. Nothing matches gold. It's terrible.

It's more suited for girls that can get away with white and gold and putting their iPad in a chanel purse case.

Otherwise, go for black. Black bezels are better for the large screen. Looks more premium and apps look better.

Pfft I like my gold air 2

Regardless of what you say, it looks horrible, its just that people don't want to get banned from here so they won't speak up. That Gold looks awful. It doesn't match with anything and that pasty white antenna on the back makes it even worse.

Because he wants to show off his new iPad to others ?

Looks so awfly tacky in gold. You should've gotten black.

This is your opinion which is fine, but I also own the Gold model and absolutely love the color of it on the iPad VS the iPhones. The Gold iPad stands out and makes it seem new as opposed to the same silver back like all the other iPads. :)

In my opinion, the gold ipads and iPhone 6 look horrible. They should have used the same colour as the 5s. It was much more subtle and less Mr T.

^ No. In my opinion the new devices look better in gold than the 5s. There can't be enough of this precious color. Nothing less. No reason to be subtle. It shines and looks great. I love(d) (because it's sold) my iPhone 5 (Silver) with those shiny blank and diamond-cut silver/metal edges (btw after two years of heavy duty it looks and works like new—not the slightest scratch or sign of being used anywhere).

Something I could enjoy only at home because outside those edges will be covered by a case. This happens to my iPad Air 2 as well. At home: Gold. Outside: Royal  (okay: Midnight) Blue leather with some tiny golden accents. Perfect. As said before: My iPhone 6 is Space Gray and it fits superbly to the Air 2—with case or without.

Now after three days I can say: It looks better every day. Almost all of my teammates and friends are saying that the color looks better in reality than on photos. One (professional designer) says that the color resembles more Champagne than (Red) Gold (especially in daylight). What he likes.

With a sharp looking Gold colored iPad Air 2, I don't know why people would bother to put anything other than a clear back case on it, which is why I placed an order for this one. I like the Gold and won't hide it in a colored case.

I'd like to know how that case looks with the Gold Air 2. Any photos?

Every iPhone and ipad I've ever owned was black or gray. I've had them all. Wouldn't think of ever getting white.

When I got my first Air,I accidentally picked up the silver with white face. I wanted black, but didn't feel like dealing with returning it so I kept it.

Now, I love being able to see the white ipad when its dark in the room and my ipad is sitting somewhere in that room. It just stands out better visually in the dark, without turning on a light.

Ended up getting a white and silver air 2. Grown accustomed to it. Very clean.

But to be honest I'd never get a white iPhone. My ipad rarely leaves the house.

I saw the gold one at Best Buy, and it looked very nice. However, the color is just not for me that this point in time. I've always liked silver devices, it's something on how simple and clean they look.

Silver paired with blue and gold paired with blue are also nice combinations.

The only thing that gets me is the bright white antenna that exists on the silver and gold models, but I can live with it.

The white bezels also look good with iOS 8 because most of the UI has been turned white. (Settings, calendar, etc.)

:D

Photos of iPad Air 2

I have gold but also have it in an Olive Brown smart case. Looks sharp. Same with the six plus, but alas, it appears the iPhone case is actually darker than the same color iPad case. Either that or a few weeks of wear has darkened it a bit.

I had my gold 5s naked and really enjoyed the gold color. Not to impressed with the antenna lines in the phone so put in the case and followed suite with the iPad.

Looks great.. Thanks for sharing!!

You just sealed it for me. . I'm on my way to pick up a gold Air now

The gold iPad simply looks like a girl's. Accessory.

Notice how not one person in this thread has agreed with you.

I luvvitt (pun intended). I got one of those for my gold iPhone (does that bother you ipadlvr?) and it shows off the back very well.

personally i find the gold to be tacky and disgusting, especially in a huge swath that is the back of an ipad. i think the 5s gold was better in terms of color tone, but still gaudy.

however, to each their own and if you like it thats fine

What color should the antenna cover have instead?

Valid argument.

+1. I experienced that as well through all my six years with several iPads and iPhones.

At night, or in dark rooms, you hardly can see your Black/Space Gray iDevices (or White/Silver devices with black/dark covers/sleeves) sitting around in the shadows. I somewhat got accustomed to NEVER put my naked Space Gray iDevices on a black sofa (or seat) because once somebody almost sit on it because he simply didn't see it laying there (the new thin iPads and iPhones are in special danger) even in daylight!

One solution—and this is not a joke: Use (temporary) a white/bright cover or case for those occasions which are well-known for people tending to lose or ruin their iPhones there: Parties and other events with crowds, children…. At home or elsewhere (movie theaters, concert halls, stadiums, tv studios, exhibitions, vernissages…). I made good experiences with that strategy which saved my dark iDevices more than once. A separate cover/case with this "special functionality" is way cheaper than a new iPad or iPhone! Think about that when you are in crowds often.

Ended up getting a white and silver air 2. Grown accustomed to it. Very clean.

Enjoy!

Yeah, just shout your fashionless opinion on this thread like statements of truth!

It's not even an opinion about fashion. It's a just a prejudice towards a color.

Someone said it looks tacky, which is a personal taste in style, while you basically said anyone that gets gold is feminine. So my point still stands.
And my point stands too. Guys shouldn't be buying gold iPhones and iPads.

And that's on top of the fact gold iPads look terrible.

Ok, enough bickering. This thread has derailed.

Nice iPad OP. If you really want to protect it, you should use the luvvitt clear case like someone suggested. They also make great tempered glass screen protectors.

Edit: I see you're already getting the smart case, but you should really check out those screen protectors!
