Recent S25 ultra photos. I used expert raw & Lightroom mobile for the edits. The crops show the insane detail of the 200mp camera.
This is why I switched to Android from iPhone. The camera suits my needs much better & I’m tired of waiting on Apple to innovate.

All images shot at 200mp, size was reduced to 19mp for the web.

These are amazing. I remember enjoying your pics in the iPhone forum. The S25U is a beast. Glad you are enjoying it. I'm loving the combo of my Z Fold 7 and S25U. I know the iPhone foldable will tempt me but I'm going to do my best to roll with this combo at least till then.

Thanks, yeah I still have one 16 pro max that I'll keep until paid off. Until then, I have two S25 ultras to play with. The Z fold 7 is cool!! Very durable from what I've seen. I'm not on the folding phone bandwagon as of yet, maybe one day.

No tricks with mirrors, just a very long hotel corridor in Bangkok

Just testing out the camera. Whoever did the processing algorithm for Samsung phones needs to be fired.

Default camera or expert raw? I use expert raw 80% of the time. I recommend using expert raw if you know how to edit raw files.
Sure but why can't they just try to use the algorithm that doesn't make everything blurry? I think the camera is capable, why is the processing so bad?

Blurry? I'd have to see a photo or crop of a photo to see what you are referring to. Also would like to see the ISO & shutter speed the camera used. These high resolution camera sensors are susceptible to motion blur if the shutter speed isnt highenough, if that's the blur you see in photos. Brand daylight will not cause that issue as the shutter speed is really high. I've seen my S25 Ultra use 1/15 second shutter indoors and depending on the camera in use, that's usually to slow.

Hmm, are you referring to these little smearing-like artifacts on the edges of a car?

If yes it is an old problem, probably takes back to my S10+ that I’ve unfortunately sold. It has something to do with specific lens design Samsung uses, not something you can get rid off in the RAW.

On the other hand, that’s a good tradeoff and gives slightly nostalgic look to the image.

Overall I like this photo of Lego car. Believe me, if you were to take it with an iPhone it would have been much blurrier. I absolutely love than Samsung has toned down their processing and noise reduction in recent models like s24 and s25, it was ruining many shots, especially close-ups.

How is Z Fold7 otherwise? Especially for photography. I myself had never used fold phones so just curious how the ergonomics and photo editing workflow🙂 In concept it looks awesome, though I am still kinda leaning more into S25 Ultra

Haha thanks! But yea these are Pro RAWs with HDR removed via Pixelmator. My issue is when I'm out and about, if I want to take a quick snapshot using the normal photos option, the problem is when I get home there's always something off about the pictures due to how Samsung processed them. That being said it just might be me be used to how Apple pictures tend to look. I guess I can just use Pro Raw as my main camera and use the auto settings. Then I'll just deal with the slower shutter time. That being said just taking pictures of my work area I think the results are worth it.

Initially I wanted the Sony Xperia 1 Mark 7 to be my foray into Android but the reviews and people complaining about the previous iteration really turned me off (no water resistance at all in 2025 is unacceptable). I do have an SLR but it's quite old Nikon D3200. And with the Fold 7 it kinda reignited my love for this hobby again.

So right now, I'm just window shopping for maybe a mirrorless, I am obsessed with the Fuji X-E5. Good thing it is sold out all of the time, I already bought the Fold 7. And I don't need another $2000 gadget in my life.

Edit: sorry forgot to add that in terms of the Fold 7 it's a pretty fun phone to use and so far, has gotten me a lot of compliments, a lot of people are just amazed that a phone can do something like that. I've never had people actually start a conversation about what phone I'm using before so it's pretty neat. The battery life is around 8-9 hours SOT with a combination of wifi and 5G. My daily use case is internet browsing, youtube and very light gaming(non-demanding at all like Solitare, Poker, Candy Crush, etc.) and a lot of photos. Ergonomics wise I don't like the square edge as much as the rounded one for the iPhone but I can understand why Samsung did that. One of the reasons I never wanted a Pixel Fold is due to its asymmetry.

I would say just keep your D3200, it’s a good camera actually. Big plus of every modern phone is that you can be not afraid to shoot with it in rain or snow, DSLRs and new mirrorless surely can withstand but every now-and-then when it is rainy I take my phone😃

As for the Fujis if you are still into them I suggest checking out photo examples first as these cameras sometimes tend to produce “too vintage” kind of look, unless you always shoot RAW.

And for Samsung I suggest diving into Pro mode in main cam and checking ExpertRaw app, they have tons of features and you can strip off lots of undesired processing too. It seems like it is much more tunable than iPhone’s ProRAW

Downloaded the ExpertRAW app, I am surprised it was made by Samsung themselves(why not just include this in the main camera app?). I will try to figure it out and hopefully use it as my main app going forward. Thank you @uacd and @ToddH.

So far, thanks to the input of everyone here I have taken to removing the 'Camera App' from my homescreen and replaced it with the Pro RAW and BlackMagic App. But focusing on the Pro RAW app, anyone have some presets to share?
