Oh nice. I didn't know the Z Fold 7 could still get moon shots like that. Did you just use the main camera app or were you in Expert Raw?
Just point and shoot with main lens at 30x zoom, it automatically set to night mode

Could of been better, but not bad for a hand held 🙂

BTW this was from south coast of Spain 🇪🇸

Nice! My daughter went there on a school trip last year.

And that's awesome. I did not realize that it could still take great moonshots like that. I'm going to be in a secluded area this weekend so I'm hoping for a lot of stars and a full moon!

A Re-edit of my milky way shot using the Samsung S25 Ultra & Expert raw. Lightroom edit. I wanted to correct a few things in the image. This shot was taken while on OneUI 7. The one thing I noticed between OneUI 7 VS One UI 8 is the default ISO in the long exposure mode went from 400 to 500, a full stop more sensitive. So that will help. I haven't been able to change the ISO, It seems set at 500 by default.
Labs menu, long exposure (12 minutes).

IPhone 4? Or 4 images light edits? The 2010 model? If so, I remember having that one. Still takes good photos... let me know if I'm reading that correctly.
On MacRumors you can click on an image and see the metadata, doesn’t mean it is not faked, but in this case it is not.

Photos were taken on my iPhone 4 from 2010. (This photo taken with Pixel 8 Pro ;) )

That's really cool. I'm surprised to see an iphone 4 in use these days. That still works.
It was my first iPhone, my first (sort of) Smart phone, and I am the original owner of it. Still has the original battery, but I have replaced the screen.

Downgraded it to iOS 6.1 and play a host of classic games on it. It has come with me on many flights to play classic games, and I just recently started to enjoy photography with it again too for the more classic grain the older cameras have.

Funny thing is, I can't connect it to my Mac, or iPad to pull photos from it, there is some odd security issue. I can only use my Pixel phones or Windows to pull photos.

It gets a lot of comments when people see me using it in the wild with some classic headphones connected to it.

Hmm, strange that it will not connect. I remember living in Austin TX and I stood in line on lauch day for the iphone 4 at Barton Creek mall second floor. The line was wrapped around that floor leading to the Apple store. I remember Apple released the bumper case in many colors for that phone. Waiting in line for the new iPhone was a fun time for me. Watching the energy of the crowd as each customer got closer to the front doors of the Apple store & taking ownership of the new iPhone.

I waited for the new iPhone (sometimes overnight) like this for years along with so many other people. Its not that way anymore which is good I suppose for safety reasons, but lots of great memories. I think it's cool that you are still using the iphone 4 with the original battery...wow! My fist iphone was the 3Gs. Having a strong desire for photography, I upgraded my iphone every year for the camera improvements.

I didn't upgrade this year to the 17 pro max because not much was changed on the cameras. A significant disappointment for me, so I switched to Samsung. I have the S25 Ultra and Expert Raw is amazing! Being able to set the cameras ISO & shutter like I can on my Sony A7RV is very valuable to me as a photographer. The 200mp camera is also amazing, so much detail. Why Apple can't give us users control over the iphone camera like Samsung can is just lame. I got bored with the iPhone cameras and software and that is my reason for moving away from the iphone. I love the S25 Ultra, I still have the 16 pro max, but it is rarely used. My two S25 Ultra phones took its place. Thanks for sharing your experience with the iPhone 4.

The iPhone 4 was such a good device. I waited in line for hours on a knee that was surgically repaired 2 days prior at Willow Bend Mall in Plano. As far as design, the iPhone 4 and 5/5s were peak Apple design and the first truly "good" cameras on an iPhone. The 5s may still be my favorite of all time.

I still have and love my S25U but it is rarely used. I pull it out to use the camera from time to time but the camera on my 17PM is so consistently good I rarely need to change anything. I'm not a hobbyist photographer and really, if I get too much control of settings I'll probably mess things up lol, so the iPhone is plenty good, although I do prefer the shots I get from my S25U on vacation. It's the kids' sporting events where the iPhone is so reliable that it's hard to carry anything else. Sadly I've been roped back into iOS due to it just being a better communications device overall for me with all my family and friends on iPhones. I still carry my Z Fold 7 every day on my work line though and end up with pretty near equal use between devices.

I have some different camera applications that I default to on iPhone, and for the Pixel, Google camera works great for me, and in many cases so does the default camera app on iPhone.

I am a semi-professional photographer for Motorsports, and my actual travel camera is a Sony ZV-1, with my big cameras being Canon R5 with an assortment of L-Lenses.

Something special about carrying around an older iPhone, or even my older Powershot cameras and snapping some street photography. Most don't notice the little phones, the older cameras, or really care if it is the ZV-1. If I take the Canon out, it usually gets more attention than it is worth!

I still have a few older phones that I take out to shoot with from time to time. (Like old Macs, I guess I collect old phone devices too)

  • Xs Max
  • 13 Pro (my backup phone)
  • Pixel 3
Really is interesting seeing photos from the 5S and the 4 from time to time as it has more of a classic grain to it like older point and shoot cameras that are all the rage in some groups. I think one of the best cameras was that in the iPhone 7. It still takes great 4K video, and photos are usually really quite good and not as over-processed as those in the X and Xs.

Nice.. I've had Nikon for the longest, started with the FM2 film camera. My last Nikon was the D850, now have the Sony A7RV with Sony & Sigma lenses. I'm not as busy with photography these days, my full-time job with JF Petroleum group keeps me very busy driving around the city and surrounding areas fixing gas station equipment, dispensers and POS systems.

I don't have any of my older iPhones. I trade them in as I upgrade. If the Samsung S26 Ultra is going to be better with faster optics, I'll probably upgrade to that. I enjoy pushing the limits on the IPhone & samsung devices for astronomy. Whether i'm connecting my phone to my telescope at the eyepiece, or just setting it up on the tripod and taking a long exposure in a dark area to get the milky way etc. is fun. Otherwise I'll use my Skywatcher Star adventurer tracker to guide my Sony & Sigma 135mm f/1.8 lens to capture the sky. I always have my mobile phone with me though.

A couple of portraits with the iPhone 14 pro max and off camera lighting at 48mp. Most people can't believe i took these with an iPhone.
