it says ready for pickup on SEPT 19, not today. reading and comprehension of what you are reading is complicated

Well based on the email and reading it it says... it says it's ready.

Now, we all know you can't go until tomorrow. But that isn't 'reading comprehension' to be precise it's actually basic common sense.

6+, space grey, 64GB, picking up W 14th nyc.
still processing, 9/19 date
want my email!!!!!!

I got my e-mail from W. 14th a couple hours ago, but I ordered a regular 6, maybe they are doing the 6's first, and given that there are probably a good number more 6 preorders it might take awhile before they get to the 6+'s.

"Ready for Pickup"

Thanks for your input, but the order status truly does read "ready for pickup" (attachment) with no mention of September 19. That's also what I got when I called Apple, but didn't believe it without hearing from an employee at the actual store.

I would have been surprised if I'd been allowed to pick it up, but it's worth knowing either way.

I have not email yet :( and my order hasn't changed on the apple store app or website

I am waiting for Bay St store for a 128GB iPhone 6+ Verizon Space Gray

My order email and Apple say still say processing and will be ready on 9/19 and my card was charged already on Saturday

Same situation here and location. We'll be ok.

So I'm picking up my 2 unlocked contract-free TMO phones tomorrow... got the Ready for Pickup email. The store opens at 8 am... if I go jump in line at 7 am, is it reasonable to think I'll be out of there by 10 am? I've never done one of these pre-orders before so I don't know what to expect.

I don't understand what the length of time it takes to get through these is...

- Say hi, show order receipt and ID --- 10 sec
- Apple rep types in order ID and fetches device --- 2 minutes
- Apple rep has you sign for pickup --- 10 sec
- You're out the door and on your way

Seems the whole process should be 3 mins or less per customer. If the Apple store has 100 people on staff handling these, that means they should be able to process 20 transactions per employee per hour... so with 100 people working, they should process 2,000 pickups per hour... I don't get what the process is that delays things, since the carrier upgrades have been processed already, and those like me who are buying unactivated don't even have that process. If I order a Macbook Air I walk in, they look at my ID, and I'm out in 2-3 minutes... the longest part of the process is the actual retrieval of the product from the back room.

So based on my above calculation, my expectation to get out of there by 10 am would mean I'd have 4,000 people in line ahead of me, which isn't likely.

Seems reasonable. Only issues I foresee would be if the computers are running slow or the people in the stockroom are lagging. Another possibility would be the people who want the Geniuses to set up devices. That takes time.

Do we really have to print the bar code that they sent in the email? I'm staying at a hotel and dont have access to a printer, can I just show them the email and my Id?

Yeah.. but I don't think in-store-pickup actually reserves you a particular unit, I think they just grab one off the pile, so there should be no stockroom fetching for this type of thing. If they'd assigned a specific serial number for each pickup they'd be hunting for that one for days... and we'd all have serial numbers showing in our My Apple Products.

And the genius setup should be an entirely different queue.

Well clearly the email that you got says the 19th. And clearly the order confirmation says the 19th. So to argue semantics of the wording of the order status page (I'm fairly certain they have Processing, Preparing, Ready as statuses... not "Ready Tomorrow")... and given anyone who ordered it pre-order knows tomorrow is release date and everything you've gotten via email says pickup tomorrow, good luck standing on that little leg, hehe

I wouldn't think so. They can scan the QR code from the email on your phone.

The only time I have used this option (pick up in store) was when they released the iPhone Air. I didn't get my pick up ready email until 4:50 pm (launching day). I was told that pick up orders are usually filled by others employees on the back.

With the new iPhone, you may able to get it in the morning, as long you get the email, but I'm sure it will be a different line for "pick up".

What about "Your items will be ready for pickup on Sep 19." is so hard to understand?
