Going back to a phone that has the same design as the iPhone launched in 2012... Nty.

Why changing design every second year if its a good one?? spacial when most of the people covering it with cases...
Apple using the same MBP design for many years, and no one complain... so why its a must with phones?

OP, enjoy your new phone, its a great tool!

OP enjoy your SE. I love mine.

Personally, I think the 5s is the perfect design chassis. With 6s components, it's a robust little machine.

People can say whatever they want, the SE did well sales-wise, that says everything.

Just played with one in the apple store (my 6S had a battery issue and they replaced with a brand new unit...it was built 3 weeks ago.) and man-o-man..its def smaller than i remember (from the 5S days). But boy did it feel "right". Its not as immersive but that just means less distractions..which in this day in age, is definitely welcomed.

Ill have an SE in my pocket soon enough....anyone wanna buy a mint new 6S?

**MODS**-im joking, don't delete my post. I know theres a classifieds section that it'll be going in soon enough.

I think the reasoning behind that is most people will keep their laptop for many years but upgrade their phone every two years. I bought my first MacBook in 2010 and didn't upgrade until four years later. It's been two years with my current MacBook and I don't plan on upgrading again for at LEAST two more years, more than likely even longer. It's nice that my MacBook still looks like the current model. Meanwhile, I have never owned a phone longer than two years.

That said, I do also own an iPhone SE after owning an iPhone 5s for almost two years. I would have liked to see a slightly modified design, but almost the exact same design as the iPhone 5s wasn't going to keep me from buying one. I still love the design.

I received my 64GB SE on Friday. Great price ($399 no contract). It is nice to be back on iOS. (I had previously owned a Sharp Aquos Crystal running Android... loved the bezel-less design) My previous phone before that was an iPhone 4.

I think over time the SE will grow in popularity even more than it currently enjoys. Apple appears to have misjudged the demand for it in the 'States... or deliberately wanted to throttle back sales.

The pendulum of customer desires swings both ways... for many, they wanted bigger and bigger phones. Some of them now want a smaller phone. Others who never wanted a larger phone were "stuck" buying phones that were 2+ years old (5S). But with the SE it is essentially a 6S in a smaller form factor.

People have their own priorities. Yes, there are those who dislike the SE because it looks very much like the 5S and when in social situations, pulling an SE out will cause others to think that is a 5S. The person will be ridiculed for having such an old phone. They'll be social outcasts. Pariahs. They'll be relegated to spending their Saturday evenings following the instagram feeds of their (now ex-) friends' exploits, wondering why they bought the SE.

Yes, there are people for which this is a concern.
True, some folks will always judge by appearance alone.

i understand. but i exercise a lot and i like to bike ride. so sometimes the smaller device I've noticed makes a big deal.

Bluetooth headphones solves the issue for me. Allows me to put the phone down in the gym or in under
Seat punch on bike. Love the new Bose wireless. Fits in ear really well without falling out and wire stays in place with back clip.

I tried it. The screen is too small, lower resolution is noticeable (not good), and the phone is thicker, negating any advantage it has in the pocket. I sent it back.

I don't understand this way of thinking. A good design is a good design, regardless of when it was introduced. Having owned a 5, then a 6, and now an SE, I see this design as clearly superior to the 6. Newer isn't necessarily better.

Well said, for a smaller phone (Which I like) this SE rocks, I don't understand the "Old Design" issues people have.

...because as much harrumphing that many say that they DON'T buy Apple products because of fashion and style... they do.

That's ok. Everyone has their own priorities. For some it is form over function, others function over form, and still others, function AND form. :)

For me, it is function AND form... the function of the SE is terrific... and so is the form... for ME. :D

The BOSE SoundSport? That only last 6 hrs...a joke.

I purchased a used SE off ebay a while back to use as my 2nd phone. My 6s+ is what I use daily but when I go out to events for work I don't need it.. so switching to the smaller form factor is great for me. Would I use it as my daily driver? Sure! But I would need to have more space then 16gb since my 6s+ is 128gb though I don't use that much of it.. most of the time it's half.

When Walmart dropped the price of the 5s to $149 folks came in droves for it and that retailer could not keep it in stock. 2 people in the store buying it the same time as me told me they were returning their recently bought SE as the price difference was too great regardless of the differences.

Lol you haven't lived in Asian countries like India have you? Pretty common for stuff like to happen there.

Would it be possible for you to substantiate this claim with any proof that such stuff is pretty common in Asian countries like India but not in non-Asian countries like those in the remaining 6 continents?

In India, people still rock the 4s 8GB! It is a price-driven market, and in being that, it gets a totally different rep in the world, it is then seen as a poor country with people not being able to afford the latest and greatest.

Wow, that is a great price. Is that deal still available (if it was from an internet or brick & mortar store?

Are they the soundsports? If so, would you feel comfortable running on the street with them? I've been looking for a pair of bluetooth headphones, but ones that don't block ambient noise, so I can hear traffic, etc. From what I can gather, the soundsports don't completely bock ambient noise, but I can't tell if they allow enough outside noise in to make them safe for running outdoors. Thanks in advance.

Just get a pair of the 1st gen Jaybirds X, quite reasonably priced and they fit your criteria.

Thanks for the heads up. I had looked at some of the newer jay birds, but they blocked ambient noise. I'll check those out.

That deal is still available. A couple of caveats. This is through VirginMobile and BoostMobile. Both are pre-paid subsidiaries of Sprint and use Sprint towers. So we're talking CDMA here, not GSM. :( I much prefer GSM, but for $100 off and my excellent experience with both VirginMobile and BoostMobile for years (my wife is on VirginMobile, I'm on Boost) it was worth the trade-off.

The phones are locked into their respective pre-paid services.

a phone is a tool. not something you brag about. but thats just my opinion.
I would love to know why you bought the 6+ and 6s+ but you are now satisfied with the size of the SE. Personally I never had any interest in the larger size phones but found the 6 and 6S are just the perfect size for me.

Thanks. My Sprint contract ends in a month. I"ll take a look at both of those carriers. That's a great price.
