5k downloaded to your phone or referenced? I have over 11k showing in my library but most of them aren’t actually downloaded to my phone.

Keep a microfiber cloth on you to wipe lens glass cover. Makes a big difference. Try to lightly tap the shutter button.

I've only had my new iPhone X since yesterday. Of course I had to take a few quick snaps of my cats

All of these were shot with the Camera app and a little editing in Photos. I use Pro Camera and other editors, but the built in apps are quite good.
