I've had this capability with my Galaxy Tablets for a few years and found it very helpful. Glad to see it on iOS9... it might be time to upgrade my iPad.

As someone uses their iPad for video watching primarily, this is a brilliant feature. I just can't wait.

I have to say this makes my iPad much more useful now. I hate watching shows on the iPad and feeling like I can't do anything else with it.

How to use this? I have a mini 2 and everytime I press the homebutton, the video from the Pictures app stops playing and no small video appears. I can't seem to activate PIP

It only works on iPad Air 2 with iOS9. (iOS9 won't be out until the fall most likely).

Well I had this feature on my galaxy devices for a few years but never really used it as I found it buggy and it was only supported by the stock video player app which I didn't use much. I'm hoping it will be more useful on my iPads as I do use the stock video app and I hope it's more stable.

Pip and and glide or whatever it's called works with the Mini 2 and 3, I don't know all the versions of the full iPad. Watch the keynote again or look at Apple site.

Split view where two apps work at the same is only on the Air 2.

I think you need a notification or something to activate PIP.

I tried a couple of Safari videos but couldn't get it going. What exactly do you do to get it PiP?

Edit: works awesome with FaceTime.

Nope 'Slide Over' (about 20/30% of the screen) and 'Picture-in-Picture' option are also supported on iPad Air, iPad mini 2,3 to see e.g twitter/facetime/whatsapp/Youtube chat next to e.g. mail, browser, YouTube. At 9to5 they posted a nice Hands-on.

Only Split View works on iPad Air 2 unfortunately. With Split view you can e.g. set the size to 50/50% of the screen with two apps.

PIP and Split View are both huge because they make the iPad more computer-like. These are features that are no-brainers if technically possible. The only problem is that they haven't been technically possible until now.
