Shot Today - so it is a Picture Of The Day
Canon 20D
Tokina 12-24mm f 4.0
1/125 Sec
f/9.0
ISO 100 (should have been 200 or even 400 - bleh)
Focal Length 12 mm

Adjusted Highlights in Photoshop to bring out the ground and distort to make the horizontal lines more perpendicular.

Great shot. I love the light on the clouds
Looks so surreal :)

The lighting was great - sun was going down and we had really nice thunder clouds all around.

It would have been much better if the corn was at least a couple feet high - I'll try and get another similar shot later this summer.

This one goes out to iGary.
I lost a little color and gained a little compression during the export, but it looks good to me. EXIF data available upon request. Canon 300D.

Chip, I hope you liked San Fran as your desktop. What a beautiful city, especially through a camera.

I live near rt 50 and annandale rd. I work on Broad Street in Falls Church city, near CVS at a graphic design frim :)

Thanks for the welcome. If you ever see a red Ford Mustang GT convertible with a british flag on the back, thats me!

I'll watch for that red Mustang GT convertible! If you see a vibrantly blue Acura RSX with the license plate "Clix Pix," well, that's me!! I usually am over in Falls Church on Saturdays for work, and often on Thursdays as well...

I really do like it... but it's sort of creepy. Reminds me of the first few shots of "The Others" in LOST.

Silver Lake, Upper Peninsula, Michigan, Memorial Day Weekend 2005.

Camera: Canon PowerShot SD 300
ISO: Auto
Focal Length: 17.40mm
Shutter/Aperture: 1/640 @ f4.9

I took this with a Canon P&S. I'm not a pro photographer, but I enjoy capturing unique scenes like this, and the Canon Elph has produced some amazing pictures. Unfortunately, the elph's size was also it's downfall, as I somehow didn't empty my pockets well enough when doing laundry, and apparently fried it in the washing machine. I have an S3 IS on it's way to take the Elph's place, though. I'd love another Elph, but it's strengths (size) are also it's weaknesses, and I want a little more capability as well.

I guess they had spare instrument light bulbs at the FBO here. :D

Very cool, though - I never noticed they moved the landing lights to the fuselage on the -800 series.

Meh, I'm posting this 2 minutes before midnight.

I've been looking at lenses on the internet all night, and I couldn't have lens lust any more than I do now.

I'm going to bed. And yes, I know I still need to post a kangaroo photo (and not a kangaroo from the zoo, either).

I have a few of those lovely pictures as well. One day counted over 100 roadside tragedies. Man do they smell when it's ~50ºC

Is theis the USA equivalent of the RAF's Red Arrows team? They do stuff like this at air displays, public events etc., only there's nine planes at once.
The Red Arrows are good.

However, the Blue Angels fly the with the tightest spacing of any demo team to the best of my knowledge. That's what makes them special.

The Air Force has the Thunderbirds.

The Army used to have a helicopter demo team as well. But now just have a jump team (Golden Knights).

The colours in that photo are stunning.
I really like it.
Thanks for posting.

Thanks for the kind words.
It was a really cold and windy december day and the sun came out just at dawn. The light turned everything into gold.

I slowed the shutter to 1/30 so the grass would "move" on the photo.

Early morning, and sunsets are my favourite times of day.

I love how the sun when low makes stuff "golden" it's so stunning.

thanks for the positive comments on my picture from Havana from yesterday. there were some requests for the full size pic, it can be found here.
