Blizzard of 2006

Hey all from Denver. First time posting in the picture of the day forum. This is more of a current event type pic than anything else. Picture was taken yesterday from my garage looking down the alley to my neighbors garage. That snow drift against the fence is a bit over 5ft tall. Took it with my D50 that I'm still learning with. Hopefully I'll be posting some more artistic pics soon.

Sweet, sweet snow.
It's going to be a brown Christmas here, barring some freakish change in the forecast.

Sony DSC R1

At work the last couple of days, I was giving out "jingle bells" to my students. You see them there in the photo. Even such a small thing makes the little ones light up like a Christmas tree.
One such happy child quickly conceived and executed the above Christmas card.

My girlfriend's greenhouse, which has exactly 1 flower right now because it's winter.

Nikon D50
105 mm VR macro
Um.....1/60th of a second exposure, which I know isn't so great without a tripod, but it was low light. Of course VR doesn't do much at a magnification ratio of 1:1.1, but it actually worked better than I thought (ie: it worked a tiny bit).
