You take such great shots. What lens did you use?

Great capture and even better post processing! The tones and color fit this image perfect! Great work as usual!

Judging by the f-number and an earlier post indicating receipt of a new 50mm f/1.8 lens, I'd say it was the 50mm f/1.8 lens. :p

I like the repetition of squares/rectangles. Is that a real face looking out a window, or a photo of a face?

I'm still toying with this shot. The photo posted is from my d70s, but I also shot the scene on ilford b&w 35mm. After enlarging and printing, I'm really digging the film tone, but there's also something about the digital shot that also appeals to me.

In total, that day saw the d70s, KSX SLR, and two different Polaroid instant cameras being used. Fun times...

Hi,

New here, and amazed to see all the great pictures in the thread. Hesitantly, I will put in one of my own as well:

Location: Tintagel Castle, UK (supposedly King Arthur's)
Date: August 25, 2006
Shutterspeed: 1/250
Aperture: f4.5
28mm
ISO 100

A photo of my son on a cloudy day in a castle well over 1,000 years old. Photo has a little work on it to improve colors

I like your pic. a lot. Cloudy days are great days to shoot.

Tintagel, yes...one of my favorite places in Canada--the Nass valley in northern B.C.--has a Tintagel Creek. It has swarms of salmon and trout, and a truly dense population of extra-large black bears and grizzlies. I spent many years fishing, picking mushrooms and planting trees there.

If you have a chance to scan & post it, I'd love to see the b&w version. I'm finding myself really into b&w lately :) I shot a bit of b&w some years ago (film) but I have not touched it since going digital, and I'm glad to be exploring it again (albeit on digital).

Thanks a lot! Having seen many high-quality shots by you in this thread, I really value that! I've some more from that holiday, but they need some work done as well.
