Picture of Your Beer!

Not my picture, but the most recent beer I had. A locally produced favorite

I know its not a beer, but I had to share this one. Apple Pi by B. Nektar. This is my first time trying a mead - I actually thought it was a cider and that my wife would like it. This is like drinking a slice of apple pie with 14% alcohol. So good, so smooth, and especially good on a nice cold day. If you are able to get a bottle of this and its your thing, try it

I think Lagunitas (like Stone, Ballast Point, & the like) can be found most anywhere. They are now 50% owned by Heineken that is allowing them broader distribution. For the record, it was quite good!
My thinking was because it's a limited release it might be limited to the areas around the brewery.

Currently enjoying.

Some of what Lagunitas produce can be excellent.

As do I, but I am unable to read the label on your bottle; what is the main ingredient (i.e. fruit)?

hmmp.

never had one.

At their best, they can be brilliant - clean, crisp, tart, and thirst quenching.

However, the really good ones (because they use natural ingredients, rather than synthetic substitutes), can be quite expensive.

I am a big fan of Avery Brewing; wish I would have held on to this bottle for a little while longer. Samael's Oak Aged Ale; 16.3% ABV with a very sweet finish

Wow. An ABV of 16.3% for a beer? That is almost into fortified wine (some port and sherry) territory........

I don't think that I have had a beer where the ABV exceeded 13%.

What was it like?

My friend, this was quite good - the first thing that hits is the alcohol, warming the chest, but then there's a sweet finish to this that really surprised me. I love Avery Brewing - TWEAK and Uncle Jacob's Stout are two of my favorite, and they are 16 - 17% ABV. They make some really strong stuff, and I like to try different ones as they are available. I cant wait for their coconut porter release next month!

Wow. Thanks for the explanation. Hope you enjoyed it.

Again, I have had porter style beers that clocked around 13% - rich, luscious stouts, with a marvellous depth of flavour, and, at their best, beautifully balanced, - but nothing at the level that you have described.

I picked up a bottle today and going to give it a try

I was fortunate enough to have been sent 2 of the hardest to acquire/best IPAs in the land from a friend on social media. The Alchemist Brewery in Vermont's Heady Topper, and Focal Banger.

For those who like pictures (I don't have a digital camera - or an iPhone and thus cannot post pictures), I am currently sipping a few beers from the Achouffe stable (in Belgium), a La Choufffe, followed by a McChouffe.

Take a look at the labels - they are among the more charming in the beer business.

A link for those curious, and they are indeed charming. Never tasted a Belgian beer I didn't like.

Thank you for posting the link.

Of the beers pictured - and what gorgeous, charming labels, they put a grin on your face (and the beer is excellent, too), I have had the McChouffe, (a delicious dark beer, am currently sipping one), the Houblon Chouffe (an excellent triple style beer, and quite lovely), and the La Chouffe, (a robust, unfiltered blond beer); I have also had their Christmas offering, in the 'quad (quadrupel)' style, a beer called N'Ice Chouffe, which is rich and robust.
