Definitely the lighting lol. I'll try again tomorrow in natural sunlight. You can do a quick compare and contrast if you scroll up to the other guy who just posted his black case.

Here's the case on my space grey 6+. The first set are in direct sunlight:

GREAT photos and representations of how it looks in well-lit vs poor-lit environments. I'm still tossed up between Midnight Blue and Olive Brown... I think the Brown helps it stand out a little more but smudges and wear/tear will show up easier on it too. The Midnight blue is dark enough to hide some of that wear/tear but also blue enough to have a nice touch to it.
 
Thanks! I really like how the blue complements the black front of the space grey phone. It's dark but it's not black on black so it catches the eye, but not in an obvious "look at me" kind of way. I think the brown would look best with the gold phone.

Do you have a gold? Does anybody with a brown leather have it on a gold? I'm torn between blue/brown.
 
Picked up my midnight blue case today... really tough to find, had to do a reservation at the one store within 25 miles that had one in stock.

Now that I have it on, I do notice what I would describe as some "streaks" in the leather at the back. Not sure if it's defective or not... now I will probably have to swing back in to another store when they get them and compare it.
 
I just received mine in the mail today and I too have some streaks on the back. I didn't know if that was normal or not. If so, I am ok with it but wasn't sure.

This is normal. I used to look carefully at the 5S case to ensure they didn't have this. Not defective at all though. Shows the grain in the leather.

Is there an Apple Store near you? You can go into the store and look at the cases, see which you prefer. Or you can purchase one of each, decide which one you like more, and return the other one within 14 days.
 
Surprised how blue some of those look. Quite gorgeous.

I compared blue and black side-by-side in the store and saw so little difference that I just went with black. The lighting in the Apple store must be deficient or something. Limited color spectrum?
 
The blueness is very dependent upon lighting conditions. Perhaps there's also some variation in the dying process from one batch to another? I agree that the photo miss.manson took is much more vivid blue than what mine looks like.

It's funny how stock varies from region to region. In my area, leather cases abound. The silicone ones are much harder to find.

Nah it's a pretty long drive was going to order online
 
Then I suggest ordering both online through Apple, trying them both out, and returning one in the shipping box they both came in. Apple has the same return policy for online orders as they do for in store orders, so you're covered.

Or wait a week and a half until Best Buy gets their stock in. Some may already have them out.
