The black plastic keys look very unprofessional.
If they had to incorporate black keys into the new design, at least go with black aluminum.

Aluminum would be neat.

I don't mind black keys so much. My Powerbook G4's keys are transparent black and I think it looks nice against the silver/white.

Though I'm glad they learned to stop using transparent keys. I can see all the hair/guck under them that has accumulated over the past 6 years.

Now if only the Trackpad's button was a decent size. I really dislike the thinness of the MBAs button, and to bring a flaw like that forward is a bad idea.

I also have to say that the rest of it looks good, except for the keyboard, and the DVI port is a bit too narrow (the proportions are wrong).

TEG

I created that DVI port with the real thing beneath it - it's 100% accurate. :D

I'm finding a lot of things I did to match similar ads by Apple are getting cast about as "poor" or "fake looking" when they look nearly identical to the real thing.

the reason for the black keys on the MBA was because Apple wanted the chiclet keys but also wanted backlighting and the optical lights wouldnt look too good with white keys and aluminium painted plastic chiclet keys would be way too cheap looking for Apple's tastes.

if black keys to appear on the MBP im guessing it will be for the same reason.

Hellloooooooooooooo punctuation.

Gut feeling says that the MacBook Pro keys will be different than the MacBook as a way of differentiating them. Could be wrong, but it's always been this way.
Same here.

The iMac keyboard is white, so maybe:

MacBook = White keyboard
MacBook Air, MacBook Pro = Black keyboards

looks really nice, however i'm not in the market right now for a laptop

I just noticed this, in the description, it would be Core 2 Quad...not Core 2 Duo quad-core

To be honest if theres a spec update it will probably be HDD capacity, the battery, and possibly the gfx. But i dont really see why they would need to update, the specs are fine as they are.....well their atleast good enough to rival alienware's m15x which has a 2.8 GHz core 2 duo cpu and a better gfx card. But then again its built for hardcore gamers.

In my opinion the design of the macbook pro is perfect as it is and is why i will be getting one this week. :)

I'd like the Chiclet keyboard on the MacBook Pro. I've used it quite a lot, both on the desktop and MacBook version, and I'm very partial to it.

But for the love of all that is decent and holy, if they go that route but don't drastically change the design of the machine itself(ie, it's still that aluminium color), PLEASE make the keyboard the same color.

I wouldn't mind near as much if it were the translucent black a la the titanium PowerBook, but I just do not like the flat black on aluminum at all. Too tacky.

After using the iPhone 3G for the past three weeks, the general interface of all of Apple's other computers have started to feel dated for me - sort of the feeling I would have if I had to use a rotary phone or turn a knob to change the channel on an old analogue TV.

I hope the next update really raises the bar in terms of interface and design and we are all left just blown away by what Ive & Co. will unveil.
