Have you guys noticed how the Photos app automatically brightens (like really bad HDR) and over sharpens your photos when you zoom into them? This seems to only happen in bright photos such as those taken outside only.

To replicate just select a photo taken outside, slowly pinch to zoom in and you’ll notice the photo get extremely bright and sharper which is NOT how the photos actually look like. I know because when I export them to say Lightroom and view them they look normal. The same can be said if I view them in Google Photos.

It’s seriously bugging the hell out of me and I don’t know why this hasn’t been brought up more often.

*Update*

Here’s an example, the first photo is from Google Photos and the second is from the Photos app. Take a look at the cloud, it’s over brightened and sharpened while the photo in Google Photos look like should - normal.

I’m using full image quality for Google Photo since I pay for my storage.

I was finally able to determine what was causing this issue - View Full HDR.

This is a settings for Photos in Settings, it basically blows out the highlights and sharpens your photos to hell and back. I have no idea why this feature kills your photos but Apple needs to get their **** together.

Lots of great photos.

I rarely use the native cameras on the iPhone 11 Pro Max anymore, now that I have Moment lenses. They are just better. Just twist one on and your good to go. Bigger glass, more definition and clarity/character.
Here are a couple taken with the Moment 58mm: there is a before and after at the bottom: processing done in Lightroom mobile.

The International Space Station passing by the Big Dipper. I think the dashes are from the night mode taking individual exposures and those frames don’t compensate for movement. I should have used Nightcap app, but I didn’t have time to set it up.. iPhone was on a Tripod, 30 seconds exposure, had the Moment 58mm lens attached. That’s a 2x lens at f/1.8. Not a bad photo though. .

Did moment release an iPhone 11 Pro compatible lens?! Didn’t know that.
