From Pt. Reyes yesterday. Not bad snaps but much better (duh) images with the Pentax glass. If you look closely in the 3rd image, you'll see a couple of huge Turkey Vultures.

Thinking about purchasing either Camera+ or Pro Camera 8 to get more out of this tool.

P.S. I only snapped ~30 images yesterday with the IP6 and was using Strava to track the hike and the battery died (after being fully charged) in only 4 hours! Not very good performance IMHO 🙁

Im assuming Strava is a GPS app? GPS apps destroy battery life...with that being said; have you followed any battery life tips?

I'm still amazed at the very first photo I took with my iPhone 6... This iPhone is the first one I've owned (and, like a true Apple nerd, I've owned all of them except the 5S) where I was genuinely shocked at the advancements/improvements in the camera... It's absolutely amazing 🙂

What shocks me is how divided people are about the camera on these phones. Some people in other threads absolutely hate it and say that it's worse than previous models, while other praise it to the skies. I suppose I'm somewhere in between, generally I like it. I think it has a lot to do with whether or not you want to be able to view the image at 100% and still see clear details.

Yes Strava utilizes GPS and yes, I'm aware of ways to conserve juice.

However for me, the IP6 is a tool (and not an emergency device).

While the battery is much better than the one in my IP5, I now know that I need to carry portable battery chargers in order to properly use GPS and the camera when out on the trail.

Really? The iPhone 4 had the first Apple 'wow' camera and it was a massive leap from the 3GS. The 5S was good but not a major improvement on the i5, and the i6 has a very inconsistent snapper which often takes worse photos than the 5/5S in my experience.
